>>12 Yes, but he basically killed the men because he believed they stole women whom he should have been able to have sex with but couldn't. And I'm not saying he was "just" a misogynist - just that it was another factor playing in to it. If he didn't think he was entitled to have women give him sex just because he's horny in the first place, he probably wouldn't have been under the impression that women were abusing him by refusing to have sex with him, and he in turn wouldn't have felt that other men were at fault for getting women when he was still virgin. The dominoes were already set up for this situation; the fact that he was mentally ill just helped to knock the first one over. Then, the websites he used helped to keep that momentum going. There is a lot more going on here than just, "his brain isn't wired right!" but the mental illness movement keeps trying to discredit it.
All of the current civil movements keep trying to discredit each other. Even with the Sandy Hook shooting down by us, it was like a war between the anti-gunners and the mental illness awareness groups, both trying to have their own causes take the blame to push the points they're making instead of stepping back and looking at the whole picture. It would go so much better if they'd just work together. The same thing is happening with the feminists and the mentals and the censorship groups in this case. Feminists are trying to say it's just because of misogyny, meanwhile mentals are trying to say it's just because of mental illness, and the censorship groups are trying to say it's just because of the websites and the lack of internet policing... I just want to yell and go "STOP. THERE WERE A TON OF FACTORS IN THIS. LETS ALL WORK TOGETHER," but everyone is too greedy and pushy about their own causes, too caught up in their own issues to actually give a shit about the *actual* state of the world.[/endrant]
