The more you look at the recent patent fights, the more we see that the US patent standers are out of date and need to be updated.
Just this week Amazon has filed a patent on photographing objects on a white background, and this is a common photography techniques, which is used by professionals and amateur photographers. Most people use this technique to sell thing on eBay or other biding sites, and now amazon may have the right to charge you for using this on.
Not only that but if you look at some of the fights between apple and Samsung, a lot of the patents are almost ridicules, one of the real patents that apple owns is 'Slide to Unlock'. Every device (phone tablets and tablet PC) with a touch screen uses the slide to Unlock or something to like that

Patents are usually ridiculous, but this is a whole new kind of idiocy. Bravo.

looks like Google and apple are going to stop the patent battle for now and work together on fixing are patent office.
