Lostprophets frontman Ian Wantskids...I mean Watkins...has pleaded guilty to numerous charges of child abuse today on trial in Cardiff, including charges of attempting to rape a baby. Sentencing will take place on December 18th.

Prosecuting barrister Chris Clee QC told the court: "Ian accepts he was a determined and committed paedophile."

Watkins also admitted three counts of sexual assault involving children and six involving taking, making or possessing indecent images of children and one of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving a sex act on an animal. The evidence against the defendant came from computers, laptops and mobile phones. One laptop seized from Watkins's home was password protected with an obscenity relating to sexual activity with children, which was uncovered when it was sent to GCHQ to be cracked.

The court heard that he filmed and kept the episodes of abuse - which took place in various hotels in London and south Wales - which were recovered by police. Some of the evidence was too extreme and distressing to report.

"Watkins’ female accomplices also plead guilty to various charges, and are arguably even more despicable than the singer, because they are the mothers of the abused children." When one of the mothers floated the idea of “a summer of incest and child porn,” Watkins replied, “Hell yeah, baby.”
The trio discussed “whoring out” the kids.
Watkins told one mother that “the sooner we start training [her child] the better.”
Watkins and one of the mothers filmed the attempted rape.
One of the children tested positive for meth. There’s also apparently been some discussion of possible crack use."

A Facebook group of delusional fans was started in defense and/or denial of Watkins' acts. I almost find this more sad than his and his accomplices' alleged charges.

Capital punishment for various specific offenses in the UK was slowly abolished over the latter half of the 20th century and as of 1998 is completely abolished.

It's weird...from a completely logical point of view (as in, not letting emotion enter into it even in the slightest), I understand how people can have the kind of sexual preferences that this guy and the women who were letting him use their children have, and why they acted on them. But when I step back from that, and let my emotions back in, even just a little bit, I'm immediately appalled and disgusted that people would do this. I can't wrap my mind around how or why someone would become sexually aroused by child, let alone an infant. It sickens me.

The fact that those women allowed, if not encouraged him to abuse their children makes me want to vomit. Lock them up and throw away the key ASAP.

It's nothing compared to the absolute molestation of the music industry that this entire band is guilty of.

Honestly though, I never heard of their music or that they existed at all up until this point, but I feel sorry for the other 4 members. Their years of work has just been essentially thrown out the window and, they pretty much have to start over from scratch. No one deserves that.

There were a few incidents of Watkins doing stuff as early as 2006, and when some of the allegations of this came out last year, the group decided to go on hiatus. When the full extent of what he did was released, they decided to stop making music under the name Lostprophets and as of now, I don't really know if the other members will keep making music as something else or not.

They were apparently pretty shocked and disgusted too if that counts for anything.

That's pretty sad. I think that it's sad that the rest of the band has to cease their music making under that name just because one guy fucked it up.

Good news! The other former members are continuing music with a new name and new frontman, Geoff Rickly (whose credits include work in Thursday, Strangelight, United Nations, and solo material), and I'd say it's pretty good redemption. I actually dig it. Worth sharing at least. Good for them.
