Charles Camsell Hospital? (Edmonton, AB.) (20)

1 Name: Pyrogoeth : 2013-04-30 04:44 ID:l0eDZWbO [Del]

I wasn't sure where to put this, sorry.

Recently I was on a trip with some friends to Edmonton and me and my friend (We'll call her 'R') heard some rumors about this abandoned building that's known as the Charles Camsell Hospital. Of course, my curiosity was peaked and I just had to go and investigate (Okay, I was more than a little drunk. But hey, I love this kind of stuff!) and R wanted to as well.

Now, the building is rumored to be haunted by some rather malicious spirits; Which is completely reasonable to assume since it also is rumored to have a mass grave made up of the remains of the aboriginal children that were put in there during between 1945 and 1967 while the hospital operated an occupational therapy program for aboriginal patients.

Of course, being the person I am I was immediately intrigued by the prospect of exploring this building if I could, despite it being about three or four in the morning by the time R and I made it back to our hotel. None the least we drove out to Inglewood to check it out, having a bit of difficulty finding it right off the bat since due to it's closure in 1996 due to asbestos it's hard to find via GPS. Eventually we found it, and parked across the street.

We climbed the fence that encircles the entire property, the fence not even being a challenge to be honest; Though I did have to direct R about how to go about it when it was her turn to go up and over-- And I did have to lower her down since she didn`t seem to understand where to put her feet...

Anyway, the overall feel that I got of the place wasn`t too much. It was pitch black out so we used R`s phone`s flashlight app to light the way as we recorded a video of our adventure around the property as I looked for a place to get inside (R was rather scared and a little freaked out by the fact that the place might be haunted. We had established a "buddy system" before entering the property which was basically 'We hold hands and don't let go.' though we ended up breaking that rule a bit when I went and climbed up things and down slopes that she didn't want to stray into.)

As it were, I eventually found a broken and open window on one of the sides of the building that I could have potentially have fit my body through if I tried (Though there was another window next to it that I could have broken out the shards still attached to the frame since it was wider and would have been an easier fit.). After a bit of coaxing I got R to come join me by the open window so she could look inside too with her phone's light. With the help of the light I saw that there was some water on the ground and a sheet covered trolley not too far off from the open window. I led her down the slop and we both looked into the window as I moved the light around the room so we could see a bit better and she was like "That looks so cool!"

Which is where it got a little scary.

As soon as she uttered that there were loud metal thuds from inside the building, earning a scream of shock from probably both of us and R took off running with me hot on her tail. We laughed it off a bit but then we both started to feel like something was watching us so we went and jumped back over the fence.

I'm curious if there has been any Dollars in the Edmonton area or who have visited that actually entered the building and if you experienced anything? I wanted to go back in the morning but we didn't have time to before we had to leave to go back home, so I'm curious if anyone has gone inside. I've heard humors about what's inside, like there being a blood stain on the fourth floor-- Is there anyone that can vouch or deny this?

Shut the fuck up... If you actually did care about this topic you would actually contribute.
That goes to everyone else who suddenly now want to jump in.

>>4 It's possible that it's not just in mine, friend.

>>6 There's no need to be so harsh, if they had anything to contribute to the topic they possibly would have; Them not doing so could mean that they haven't heard of Camsell, not that they don't consider hauntings to be news worthy.

>>8 I never said I didn't do any research about it on the internet which is how I found out about some of the rumors regarding what's on some of the floors.

Also the whole insulting me thing is rather unnecessary.

he's right, you know, the whole point of the dollars is to create a place where people can do as they please without being criticised or ridiculed, and you, solace are not helpping that cause, so just leave pyro alone, ok?

>>10 No faggot. We aren't some kiddie anime playland where numbnuts like you can just spread your bullshit around.
We have fucking rules and they need to be followed.
Don't be a faggot white knight when OP was clearly in violation of the site rules.

OP, move it somewhere else because this isn't really news.
Thanks.

>>10 You don't define what this site is for cuz you ain't reltair.
And the whole point of a News Bulletin is not to list a personal experience or a memory. It's to give factual evidence about an event within your community or something on an international scale.

The Boston Bombing is news.
Syria's civil war js news.
How your nation's economy or stock market prices are doing is news.
A bus driver caught on tape kicking an autistic girl off a school bus is news.
A ten year old and his father being interviewd in how they save the youngest daughter from being kidnapped is news.

A ghost story without any relevant facts, links of interviews, or any for of media evidence is a PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. NOT NEWS.

That's what Solace has been trying to explain for a while now. He's bein mean about it, because none of y'all are fucking getting it You want "the Dollars" to be all about peace and happiness and acceptance?
Well, respect the rules.
Yes, there are rules.
Read the fucking FAQ.
I hate how none of you will listen and keep bumping and keep arguing until a mod has to permasage.
Do you know how long ago this would've been done with if he had just deleted this and posted it again in the Personal board? How many positive responsive and shared ghost stories this person would have received. Solace isn't trying to be like other members; he's been trying to say "post this in personal for more success, because that's where it belongs." Others would've called you stupid and this thread uselessthe moment they saw it. But he's actually trying to tell you where to go if you would ignore his crudeness and just listen.

Whoa whoa whoa there.
You need to calm yourself before you bomb yourself.
Just because you are dumb and forgot to click the sage button, doesn't mean you can just take it out on other people!

You don't have to get so testie just because you made a mistake and it was pointed out to you.

Also, I'm pretty sure a regular comma would have done just as well as the semi-colon did.
But I'm not 100% on that.
I'm not an Englishologist.

Why don't you just bump the thread again, Maggie?
Everyone needs to see what you had to say!
It's that important and wise.

I'm lying.

Sage your posts for a misplaced thread, regardless of situation, Maggie. Except for if it's at the top of the board cause that's redundant, but ya know.
