What next? banning the letters "L" and "F" because they can look like guns when they're on their sides?

You know how the government tries to handiacp us so we can only do what they really want us to do.. like i n "harrison Bergeron" ( By Kurt Vonnegut) or BloomBerg with his soda size limits... it's similar, if not basically the same thing. preventing freedom to make them think a certain way. It's perfectly normal for little boys to play with fake guns.

>>7 the issue here isn't that it was a gun, but that it was a poptart. If one little boy brings a toy weapon into school, OF COURSE some other little boy is gonna bring a real one to outdo the first. Also, while yes, Bloomberg's ideas are crazy, he does mean well, so it's not really necessary to hate on him so much, yeah?

11 Name: Petite+Ice : 2013-03-15 08:43 ID:vx2Nje3d [Del]

>>4 AND reshaping Florida.

>>7 I love that story. It holds more knowledge than people realize. Also, I think of 1984 by Orwell.

>>10 Are you being serious, or was that sarcasm? The all-caps OF COURSE threw me off a bit. Do you truly think all children will want to one-up the others in such a dangerous manner? Even if it's so, that's a part on the parents and society for screwing up on teaching morals. And, yes, Bloomberg's ideas are given with good intention, I agree with that. But, they're still pretty crazy.

12 Name: Sardonic!NachAZbg5M : 2013-03-15 14:59 ID:9OAiljRT [Del]

Do you not understand children? They don't have a proper concept of danger, >>11 . Also, while, yes, it's the fault of the parents A: the kids might find a way still and B: the rule still needs to be there for the protection of the other students in the event of the potential combination of juvenile ignorance and the miserable failing of parents. But again, the point here isn't that he got suspended for a toy gun, even though said rule has some logic behind it, THE POINT IS HE GOT SUSPENDED FOR A BLOODY POPTART.

>>12 I do understand kids fairly well. I am around them quite often. If you work with them well enough, you'd be surprised at their comprehension. I agree with point A. They may very well find a way... if the gun isn't in a safe or locked drawer, like it should be. And, B is alright as well.

I didn't see the need for all caps. I got the point. It's a little thing known as expanding upon it.

14 Name: Sardonic!NachAZbg5M : 2013-03-17 13:00 ID:9OAiljRT [Del]

i felt like the point of a kid being suspended for a poptart was so ludicrous, yet self explanitory, it didn't need further elaboration. And the ludicrousy of it is what led to the caps. That and i am an exciteable individual =w=

Wow this is complete and utter bull shit. The liberalization ( or socialization) of this country is going to far. He ate his poptart in the shape of a gun? SUSPENSION. This is more stupid then them not letting us shape our hands like guns for born to be wild when it says "shoot all your guns at once and explode into space" This isn't even liberalism. I am a libertarian, meaning I am no further right or left. I support gay rights, I support gun education. I support many " liberal" Ideas but now all this " liberalism " has become pure socialism under the guise of "liberalism". Liberalism is about caring and helping your fellow man, not disarming him because you have conflicting ideology.

I don't know if you all knew THIS, but he didn't even mean to make it look like a gun. He was trying to make it a mountain, but a classmate thought it looked like a gun and tattled. It's really stupid!

Isn't america supposed to be the state of freedom? And we're not exactly free if little kids can't have a type of fun. Even if it is a gun Pastry. ITS A FUCKING PASTRY NOT A WEAPON.

Everyone calm the fuck down. This isn't an attack on your freedom. The federal government isn't evil and trying to take away your liberties. This is merely an isolated case during a sensitive time following a tragic, scarring incident like the Sandy Hook shooting. Teachers and parents are scared and they're going to overreact. It's natural.
An appeal has been filed by the child's lawyer and I highly doubt this is gonna stick with him past elementary school. The media networks still pushing this story, you'll note, include FoxNews, which has consistently blown up stories like this in the media to promote the "evil socialist" society we're becoming. Peeps, cool your shit and go pick up a Washington Post or NY Times.
