Pope Resigns

The spiritual leader of 1.2 billion Roman Catholics, Pope Benedict XVI, surprised the world Monday by saying he will resign at the end of the month "because of advanced age."
It's the first time a pope has stepped down in nearly 600 years.

He will also be the first pope to resign in over 600 years.

Some feminists (pigs) stormed Notre-Dam in a topless protest in celebration of his resignation (among other things).

Damn feminists. Thinking they have rights, lol.

I just have a lot of hate towards feminist due to their acts of ....well....just ignorance over the past few years.

You're the only person who has seen this, Christian or otherwise, that has found that offensive. Coulda been far worse and made a joke about him being a pedo, but nope, get pissed at one caption about him being pissed at wind.

You're the worst kind of oversensitive.

What would he do when he's retired? And whos going to be the new Pope? Im not christian so I dont know, but if someone could please explain, I would be very gratefull...

I'm not Catholic, but I think the fact that a pope resigned shows that the catholic church is still strong, and its leaders don't just stay till death

16 Name: CeltysCat : 2013-02-17 11:53 ID:dWmz+Ewb [Del]

I think its a good thing. The popes are always old when elected, you have to be at least 80(?) to be the pope, and honestly, when the pope can barely walk by himself, the guy needs to retire and go be an actual old man.

Also, why did the pope resign?
He gave it up for lent! /badjoke/

I'm from Italy and i can say that The Pope is often seen as something negative. Or absolutely positive. I mean, there is no gray, it's just black or white.

Personally, i see this black.

...this thread is for a completely valid news story which belongs on this board, is not a duplicate, and has a link in >>2.

How in the world is this a shit thread? Comments don't make shit threads, Dia. They can make a thread shitty, sure, but if OP makes a legit thread and is the first to do so on that topic, the thread is still fine as any other. This in no way needs to be saged or Spider-Manned.

Chill the fuck out.

>>26 "Chill the fuck out."

I didn't mean to come out seeming as mad. X3 I don't think I really gave out a hint of such.

Also, just 'cuz a thread is placed in the right place doesn't make it a good one.

Do you understand the words "completely valid news story" or not?

The "chill out" wasn't there because I thought you were angry, but rather jumping to conclusions far too fast about this thread's purpose.

And you still are. This doesn't need to be saged.
End of discussion.

29 Name: Day/Dia : 2013-02-22 12:17 ID:lk7vRdA+ [Del]

>>28 I'm not really jumping to any conclusions; you seem to be doing such. X3 Please read what you post before you post them.

It's a completely valid news story, yeah, but we don't care, for the most part. Plus, I just wanna Spiderman thread since I like that meme. It'd be better than this thread, I know that.

Also, I'll sage whatever post I want when I want because I to. It's my decision whether I sage a post or not, and I choose to do so when I want to do so.

No, you for the most part don't care. Just because you don't like it gives you no reason to start trying to be a douche over it.

Stop trying to pin your own, self entitled level of importance to every other person's own standards.

You're starting to become one of those annoying, piss-ant members that really need to back the fuck up and reevaluate how you decide to be a douche.

I actually talked to Reltair regarding Day's "Irrelevant and overly abusing nature towards the true meaning of what the Sage button was implemented for, and he said that they can do it if they want, though it's not what it was made for.

So in and of itself, he is saying it isn't made for people like him to sage topics just because he doesn't want it bumped up.

After-all, we are who determine the legit-ability of a topic, and thus if we don't want that moron saging it because it's important and needs bumped, then I don't see why it's so hard for the kid to do it.

I think I'm going to get the input of the BBS via Suggestions regarding 'rules of conduct' in regards to how people use the Sage function. Hell, I think instead of us saying /Sage or whatever, it should add it by it's own under our posts so we can tell who is saging for stupid reasons as soon as they do it.

What the FUCK is wrong with you? This is a legitimate news story. That's like saying: Vocaloid music is shitty because of all of the shitty comments.

So you my dear, are just being an ignorant Douchebag.

>>32 I think they meant they were hitting the sage checkbox on their post so it didn't bump it with pointless argument. If I understand how it works correctly, all it does is stop your own post from bumping the thread up to the top. Typically to be used when what you're saying isn't of any particular importance, or is somewhat off-topic.

Like this post. I hit the sage button for this post since it has nothing to do with the pope resigning.

36 Name: Day/Dia : 2013-02-26 08:15 ID:lk7vRdA+ [Del]

>>34 Vocaloid music is just songs put into a program and then spat back out at you. .w.

It's basically... music. Music that someone else sings and/or makes and then the Vocaloid programming shooting out a slightly different version of the song.

Then you should sneak sage too rather than openly showing it.
I've not see any post from you that isn't saged. It's fucking annoying as hell.

Also the reason I feel idiots shouldn't sage it so much is the fact that if it's a topic I'm interested in, I'd rather not have to go to "View all threads" each time you decide to post and bump it up.

Why should it be our job to keep the legit topics up, because you refuse to put in that slightly extra effort?
