Presidential Inauguration What has President Barack Obama done to help the people of America? The president has set the stage for a first loving and non-questioning America. The plans and implications of his peaceful, progressive, and highly patriotic rhetoric have left him acclaimed in the eyes of the public. The people have stood by him, so hopefully and optimistically, and yet are unable to see what he does as president that’s not good. I’m not talking about something like when Bill Clinton was having an affair with his secretary. It’s much worse than that. During his 2008 campaign, the president said that he did not like the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. But during his presidency, the number of death tolls on Iraqi Civilians has at least doubled during his time in office. His administration has tried treacherously to authorize numerous cyber security laws that would violate our rights to due process of law. The president has sought to harvest natural gas in the homeland by way of hydraulic fracturing that could contaminate the country’s water supply. Worst he has signed a bill that would allow the indefinite detainment of any individual in the nation with out rights to a fare trial, thus effectively overpowering the Bill of Rights. President Barack Obama has followed through on his promise for change all right. Despite all these things, his second inaugural ceremony was the acme of all other presidential inaugurations. This time a staggering crowd of one million people showed up that day. This amount of support shown for Barack Obama doesn’t surprise me. When people have feared something for a long time and then someone introduces a solution, people become more than willing to conform to what that solution is, no matter what it is.
