During the New Years Eve, 60 people died in a stampeded in the Ivory Coast during a fireworks show. 26 children, 28 women, and six men were all killed from a stampede which cause is still unclear.

Meanwhile, in Sacramento, California, 2 men were shot due to being in a fight at a sports bar. More than 40,000 people at a fireworks show were disturbed by gun shots.
