Recently in one of my 7th grade school classes we have learned about parabens, sodium laureth sulfate, and phthalates. These are chemicals found in everyday products.

*Parabens are found in products like deodorant and toothpaste and are used as preservatives
*Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) are found in shampoos which are also used to clean off engine oil and are used to get the oils out of your hair
*Phthalates are found in makeup and hair straightening products which are used to prevent them from smudging

Here's the problemt:

*Parabens can mimic the hormone estrogen, which is linked to breast cancer
*SLES can cause cause blindness in the eyes if shampoo containing it gets in your eyes
*Phthalates are connected to birth defects and cancer

I've observed some of my products like my Pantene shampoo, Dove conditioner, and Arrid deodorant and I've noticed that they are laced with some of these chemicals.


The reason why these chemicals are put into these products is because companies do not care whether you die or not, they just want money. Heartless bastards they are. However, there are some safe products out there, you just have to check the ingredients.

My point here is that you should always be aware of what's in the products you're using, because I'm positive you don't want to die from deodorant or shampoo. Hopefully we can get this information around so people will be less likely to die from these horrible illnesses.

...and you just figured this out? Then again, you are in 7th grade. Everyone already knows this, and there's just no stopping it, in fact it's likely to get worse over the years. You're just gonna have to accept it.
