1 Name: anticybercrime : 2012-10-01 06:57 ID:ciQ/ybaX [Del]

Another fucked up law filed into the constitution of the Philippines concerning the banning of some illegal music/ video file sharing sites such as Torrentz and more... Oh and yeah, prior to that, there's also a new effing bill regarding on banning the social site of Facebook and tweeter due to some fucked up reasons. One "like" or click of "share"... Prepare for a 12 years imprisonment baby! Political assholes and their mind ass retardedness, the government of the Philippines is helluva crazy! This is worse than north Korea's democracy... Oh but luckily there's a petition that could trash this law,,, u but it needs 9000,000+ signers and there's only like an effin 8000 petitioners who signed in it... 3 words, we are all doomed...

Oh yeah, that's not 9 million, it's supposed to be. 900,000 ++ and it's not 3 words, it's 4 lol.

This is a really big problem if you ask me because if this gets implemented it would give other countries the idea to implement this too >_>

Whats more is that I read that even ironic, suggestive, or metaphorical language could be considered libelous. You don’t have to directly call someone a liar and a thief to get sued for libel. It’s enough to suggest it or state it sarcastically... Seriously this is a flawed law only spending the people's taxes on uselessness. I know I never did trust the government, but this just raised that bar higher than I could have imagined...

I know right? Not to mention our IT forensics suck like hell. How in the blue hell will they even implement it?

>>1
Please do remember that our elders were the ones who voted them in the first place. The fools voted a fool as their president. Just fucking brilliant, the screw-ups of our country.

Because nobody has updated this, I figure I will. Even though I might still be a little out of date.

The top court in the Philippines actually did pay attention to the myriad of protests both in and out of the country, and put out a 120 (check for accuracy) day restraining order on the law. Now, it's just a restraining order, not a full repeal - the law still exists, but it won't go into effect for at least another 120 days, during which time lawmakers are being pressured to change it.

I haven't looked into if they have done so or not, but at the very least, people are being heard. For anyone that did speak out against it, I encourage you not to stop - it's not over, but clear progress is being made to overturn it!

It would be a boring life if that would be implemented.

Remeber, this is happening in the Pillipines, not on American soil. Our laws don't transfer in importance over there.

holy crap, thats one dumb law. do they not know that those are becoming the worlds main medium??

>>25 So basically, whether or not the bill lives all boils down to how much hell can raised in 4 months. Given that about 30 Million use facebook in the Philippines, it's all about stirring up enough awareness to cause a tidal wave of panic and then watch support for the bill crumble.

Almost the entirety of the content of the present Philippine Constitution is CRAP. Lots of unnecessary and vague laws that cannot even be properly implemented. Or are just used by *ehem* the authority (a lot of them, at least) to rip the citizens of their hard-earned money. And lo and behold, our senators have the time to be dealing with stupid laws instead of fixing the constitution's loopholes.

This is the reason why I wasn't that alarmed when I heard about it. I thought, they won't be able to pull it off anyway.
I have a feeling the supporters of the bill will chicken out. Let's just see how this is going to be during the campaign period, the only time when most Filipino politicians actually do anything.

Eh, I though it was cancelled.. I really should pay more attention to news. But still, that law is effin' stupid. It needs a hell of money for that law and there are like, lots of homeless people out there that can really use those money. Unbelievable.
