Who the hell does this?

Yesterday a 17 year female , who attends Lancaster High School in California, was beaten by a football player, on school grounds, for being gay. After receiving over a dozen blows to her jaw, head, eye and head, all he received was a 5 day suspension by the Lancaster School District. She suffered from a fractured jaw and multiple concussions to the head and the Deputy Sheriff advised her mother to re-think her wanting to file charges against the football player because her daughter pushed him back. The school ended up documenting "assault" charges on the victims school file, NOT the football players!!! To make things worse, the Deputy Sheriff warned the victim, by saying, "Just so you know, if you file charges against him, I'm taking his side." We're attempting to raise awareness and bring this story to light because Lancaster High School is trying to sweep this "Hate Crime" under the rug! Like if you care and please forward to everyone you know.

I am sure that if this was taken in front of a court, the police and the school would be in the deepest depths of shit. Why is it some dickhead football players problem if she is homosexual? and aren't men taught when they are children that hitting women is unacceptable? If this girl was smart, she'd get a good education and climb high enough in her occupation to have some authority. That way she could change the system from the inside.

The stuff mentioned in the OP can unfortunately happen all the time, and it's horrible. Hopefully, she can continue to recover from her injuries and could return to her normal lifestyle as soon possible.

On another note, the link given in >>5 clearly says at the very top that this story is "probably false". According to the article, "A 17-year old female student (suspect/victim) who was standing nearby, heard the 15-year old telling the female student not to cut into line. The 17-year old female rushed over to the 15-year old male and pushed his chest, causing him to fall back and strike his back against a metal handrail...", and it basically continues from there.

Given this possible addition of information, it is likely that such an instance was just twisted into this version over rumours and social media like Facebook. More research is needed to see the legitimacy of this story.

People...read the article. It wasn't over the person being gay/lesbian/whatever, it was a fight over someone cutting someone else in a Cafeteria line. Hell, the girl is the one who stared the fight in the first place. She ran up and pushed a guy over some rails for complaining to another female about her cutting in line. Shes the aggressor here, she should be getting in more trouble than he is.
Apparently this girl involved in starting the fight was dressed as a male so the kid defended himself and threw punches at her, thinking her a male. He later learned she wasn't and felt remorseful according to the article.

This isn't about being anti-gay or shit like that.
Learn to read, not react.
The last freaking line in the article says "The young man has received several threats against his life from people who have read the inaccurate statements and are unaware of the facts."

I haz great idea. Someone, not me, should recreate this thread so people quit thinking the things that happened happened because of a hate crime.
