The U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans were killed after protesters angry over a film that ridiculed Islam's Prophet Muhammad stormed the U.S. consulate in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi.

President Barack Obama said in Washington that the United States condemned the attack in the "strongest possible terms" and would work with the Libyan authorities to bring the killers to justice.

"Make no mistake. Justice will be done," he said.

Obama said in an earlier statement that Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith, a married father of two, was also killed. The State Department said next-of-kin notifications were still being made for the other two slain individuals.

"While the United States rejects efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, we must all unequivocally oppose the kind of senseless violence that took the lives of these public servants," Obama said in the earlier statement.

Stevens was the first U.S. ambassador killed during an assignment since Adolph Dubs was slain in an exchange of gunfire during a kidnapping attempt in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 1979.

Sean Smith was one of the soldiers killed. He was a technician at the embassy that was attacked.

Sean Smith was an avid player of Eve Online, and THOUSANDS of players have been spreading monuments throughout the game. Players knew him as "Vile Rat," a player that was on the committee to help decide on new game mechanics. He had been playing since 2006, and had a huge impact on hundreds - if not thousands - of players directly.

Why did these morons care so much about a blasphemous film? That is an utterly deplorable reason to kill someone. Clearly, the killers are the ones who should have been killed.

Well, some people are mad because their religion was slandered. Honestly, I think they should be insulted and mad though I do think it's a too much to kill and American just because they were from the same country.

I think that even though America boasts free speech and free religion, I think the man that made the video was in the wrong. I honestly have not watched the video, but knowing that it's Anti-Islamic is enough for me to realize that there is so much intolerance in this 'free country'.

I can understand that he may not like the Islamic religion, but should he really have made such a video that can and did offend people from across the globe? It's probably legal in the United States, but he should have realized the consequences. People from all over the world are now looking to spill blood.

But now, should the angry people from around the world get the revenge they want? Should Obama really take a fighting stance against those people? How will America deal with the foreign opposition?

Personally, I think that the man should be punished. I think Obama should defend the Americans across the globe. But instead of fighting the opposition, we need to listen to them. It's our communication that's lacking. Instead of trying to put down the angry people and shut their mouths, we really need to listen to what they need to change. Sometimes it's not others that need to change, sometimes we need to change ourselves.

I don't think it's a problem with us that we need to change. It's a problem that they need to change with themselves.

And besides, this thing has been out for months now, why weren't they protesting it when it came out? Is there some reason they just decided to protest it on the anniversary of 9/11 and raid some American embassies and kill some people? Smells kinda fishy to me.

And you know what, I don't think that the person who made the film should be punished. I don't agree with his actions, and yes, they were incredibly stupid in hindsight, but what the heck are you going to punish him for? He's got Freedom of Speech, he's allowed to post a video on Youtube of his opinion on a matter if he feels like it. If someone else acts negatively due to it, isn't it their fault instead? It's not like his video forced them to go out and kill someone, they did that themselves as a product of their own free will. Charge them if you feel like punishing someone.

Now, this I find interesting. A few people starting complaining/rioting, and others basically copied them. An example of solidarity? I don't think so. Most of the rioters probably haven't even watched the youtube vid, they're furious because everyone they know is furious.

Hezbollah leader calls for anti-Islam film protests in Lebanon

"We call for protests tomorrow in the southern suburbs (of Beirut) at 5 o'clock," Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said in a televised speech. "Muslims and Christians must remain vigilant in order to refrain from sliding towards strife. Those responsible for the film, starting with the U.S., must be held accountable."

The video, circulating on the Internet under several titles including "Innocence of Muslims", portrays Mohammad as a womanizer and a fool. In one clip posted on YouTube, Mohammad was shown in a sexual act with a woman.

Many Muslims consider any depiction of the prophet as offensive and fury about the film tore across the Middle East this week, with protesters attacking U.S. embassies and burning American flags.

Why're they taking it out on the U.S.? Why not call for the removal of the film or something like that? It's just so stupid. There's crap about every religion, race, and group of people on the internet. I mean, really? they're killing over this bullshit? whoever made the video is stupid, I don't disagree, but I don't think it's worth killing innocent people over...
