Suicide Forest in Japan (55)

1 Name: Leigha Moscove !9tSeSkSEz2 : 2012-07-25 19:46 ID:xZY/6d2Y [Del]

There's not much to say about this, because the title says it all. There's a forest at the bottom of a volcano where people go to kill themselves, and this guy goes there to find bodies and prevent anyone else from killing them self. He's learned a lot from doing this, such as suicidal tendencies and what people do if they are still unsure.

Here's the link.

While this isn't really news, it is a phenomenon. I believe one year they pulled out 75 bodies. Also if I recall correctly, no animals live there, so the forest is dead silent.

3 Name: Leigha Moscove !9tSeSkSEz2 : 2012-07-25 20:44 ID:xZY/6d2Y [Del]

Creepy as fuck. It's like the forest calls suicidal people to kill themselves there. I'll never go visit.

4 Name: RyuKente!3GqYIJ3Obs : 2012-07-25 22:08 ID:1x4n5IKk [Del]

Its sad...very sad...

5 Name: Tatsu-kun : 2012-07-25 22:37 ID:8gNScziI [Del]

Wow, serious? That seems a little morbid don't you think, just going off and killing yourself in a forest? Really sad though...

6 Name: Tsukkuyomi : 2012-07-26 00:04 ID:SM6oNtK/ [Del]

You mean Aokigahara? I thought everyone knew about that place (it's been in stories and been around for a LONG time)

7 Name: Crisis !JjfHYEcdHQ : 2012-07-26 02:17 ID:m9gZrO28 [Del]

>>3 Actually, most of the people that went there and committed suicide didn't originally have any intent to. That's what makes it creepy.

8 Name: Oukan : 2012-07-26 02:44 ID:ENK106bL [Del]

>>7 That's okay, I didn't need to sleep anyway...

9 Name: Maru-Kai !FzZsxghPjA : 2012-07-26 14:56 ID:N5632OIW [Del]

I thought that video was pretty interesting. Is there any more on Aokogihara?

10 Name: RyuKente!nPTippytOo : 2012-07-26 18:09 ID:1x4n5IKk [Del]

>>9 Youtube has an entire playlist about it.

11 Name: Leigha Moscove !9tSeSkSEz2 : 2012-07-26 20:59 ID:xZY/6d2Y [Del]

>>7 Damn. Then I'm DAMN glad that I'll never go there. Maybe I should post more videos about it to keep this bumped. Not like you guys commenting isn't already doing a great job at that.

12 Name: MomijiHime : 2012-07-29 11:25 ID:56lFFNVs [Del]

There's a book in Japan called suicide manual and in it it says that it's the perfect place to die.

13 Name: Leigha Moscove !9tSeSkSEz2 : 2012-07-29 12:00 ID:xZY/6d2Y [Del]

>>12 If you watch the video, you'd see that a majority of the people who go there to kill themselves aren't Japanese because they are taught since they were children that it is an evil place. The Japanese won't go there because they are taught from an early age that it's an evil place and they should never go there.

14 Name: ジョ : 2012-07-30 02:11 ID:c9gWDe9S [Del]

it's sad isn't it. Unfortunately for the Japanese, suicide is rooted in their history so occurrences like this are not going to fade away. I remember reading something a few weeks ago saying that some people who suicide by jumping in front of trains make their families get a large fine as the government makes them pay for the clean up of the railway.

15 Name: Ayaka !.LlKAkH4Jk : 2012-07-30 08:21 ID:L5vlAVyT [Del]

I just watched the video. This is creepy, very creepy, but also very sad. This will certainly stay with me for a while.

16 Name: Frank : 2012-07-30 13:53 ID:7PMf/t58 [Del]

can u tell me were exactly this place is so i can also help in future. and i will also look into the suicide manual at the other places that i can help.

17 Name: Shiran : 2012-07-30 14:14 ID:1fL9hvG6 [Del]

Good replies. Unfortunately, the rate of suicide ratings is increasing in this horrible world of ours, mainly due to stress of having too many negative oppostions in their lives, like, bills, or money shortages. I just recently saved my friend from going suicidal actually. So if anyone takes the time to read this, remember, try to save anyone you can, especially those close to you.

18 Name: Frank : 2012-07-30 14:31 ID:7PMf/t58 [Del]

I agreed with Shiran that we should help and save anyone.

i heard about that place i think they should probably close that place

22 Name: Kurosaki22 : 2012-07-31 16:34 ID:5nA414FX [Del]

>>21 closing the place won't stop people from committing suicide. but if the place is closed then they will have find another place to commit suicide.

23 Name: ReloadError : 2012-07-31 16:39 ID:Jy2wqkbM [Del]

I saw a documentary about that... pretty freaky. and when ppl die there, whose gonna "clean up" after them?? is it the family or something?? i mean they cant just leave the bodies there(?)

24 Name: Kurosaki22 : 2012-07-31 16:48 ID:5nA414FX [Del]

>>23 forest workers usually do that

25 Name: Neku : 2012-07-31 20:06 ID:5ikgW1TG [Del]

With all the suicides in that forest I wonder whether or not a lot of murderers get away by dumping the bodies of their victims there.

26 Name: Thiamor !yZIDc0XLZY : 2012-07-31 22:48 ID:jvPHouAI [Del]

Cops still do investigations, even if it's stated to be a Suicide.

My friend told me him and some buddy's were going camping there this weekend. I want to go too but I already made plans on drinking with some friends that day. Oh well, but im going to ask him about all the detail when he gets back!

>>36 thats unrelated right there...

38 Name: Thiamor !yZIDc0XLZY : 2012-08-15 17:41 ID:zcRBoH9D [Del]

>>37
Not really. It's kind of related in the sense he says his friend is going to that location and wishes to ask him, upon his arrival back, about the place.

39 Name: Sky-Chan : 2012-08-18 07:55 ID:qNyksr5W [Del]

Japan has creepy and sad things like this forest, but they also have awesome things like those Kuratas... They're like a bipolar country.
I don't think I'll ever visit that forest, even though there is a path open for the public that is not associated with suicide...

40 Name: Sirjj : 2012-08-18 23:49 ID:befRrNXZ [Del]

Yah but that place is full of gosts

41 Name: zolraK : 2012-08-19 20:50 ID:J9iGfoyC [Del]

If these people are hellbent on killing themselves, by all means, let them! Those kind of people make society look bad. They need to deal with the fact that not everybody has a rainbows and unicorns perfect, glittery life.

42 Name: Thiamor !yZIDc0XLZY : 2012-08-20 02:58 ID:Ri34mMC2 [Del]

Yeah, and I'm sure ignorant little DICKS don't make the same impression, right?

43 Name: Misuto!M4ZBq07Cs. : 2012-08-20 11:56 ID:mWmWBrog [Del]

>>41 That isn't really for you to say. Depression is something difficult to understand for anyone who's never suffered from it; it's a real psychological disorder that would drive an otherwise reasonable somebody to such lengths.

Generally speaking, nobody would drive themselves to suicide if they weren't suffering from some sort of psychological trauma or stress. The sort of people you may be talking about are angsty teenagers who claim to be suicidal for attention or as an easy cop-out for actually dealing with their own issues; Keep in mind, however, that there are people out there with real problems as well.

51 Name: anubis : 2012-08-29 22:02 ID:unN/NSAf [Del]

>>50. Slenderman is only funny when Feral is around.

I suppose I must now put my two cents in. This whole thing is freaky. Heck, anything that involves mass suicide is freaky. Also, suicide is the most selfish thing you can do besides taking someone else's life. They need to keep a better eye on people in that forest.

52 Name: Raikura : 2012-08-30 06:54 ID:Memnr7W9 [Del]
