That's just so wrong! Obviously they did it because the country is so overpopulated but this is just evil...

Only thing I see wrong with it is the fact that they aborted the baby seven months in when their law prhoibits abortion after six months. Well, that and the photo.....

Also, I thought they could have two children without being fined, and they had to be fined when they got three.

>>4 not sure about the fine system, but they can have a child, if it's a boy, then that's it, if it's a girl, then they are allowed to try one more time.

And truly, while the picture and situation is controversial, when you consider that only 20 years ago they had people dieing of starvation... I guess what ever works >.<

At least they didn't go down the Indian path, unpaid traffic ticket? here's a vasectomy with that.

I never approved of abortion.

I read in my local news the fine for a second child is around $6800, and since the family could not pay, the local government stepped in. This was a terrible incident. Has anybody heared if the government officials responcible received any type of disciplinary action?

Abortion lies within the right of the parents and not the Governing system of the particular country. The real thing that should be discussed should be whether or not you're human enough to give the choice to a child that has no say in it's life.

The question is, "Do we have the right to decide for the child's life in lieu of it?" OR perhaps, "Does the state have the right to decide on it for us?"

>>8>>9 That child is incapable of making a choice...so it should be up to the parent...mandatory abortion is the topic of discussion. Let's not bring philosophy into it.

Yes, but mandatory abortion is part of the second question, right?

Forced abortion is wrong. Abortion in general should be the choice of the woman who is pregnant, and possibly her husband/boyfriend if she sees it fit.

People telling others what to do with their bodies are usually weak minded individuals who regret their own choices in life, pushing their ideas on others makes them feel validated because they feel that they are somehow helping. Not only is it offensive, but they are not in a position to tell any woman, or couple, what to do with their bodies.

In other words, Abortion is the choice of the parent/parents. A decision can not be made by random persons with no idea on who they are or how they live/their situations. We should stop forced abortions because they take away the choice. We should continue letting people choose because only they know the situation they are in and what is right for them.

No one single person, even a large group, will be able to stop a Government from doing forced abortions, if that is what they have been doing for many years.

While it may be wrong, we have no power over a tradition that must have been going/implied, for many years. If it was 'so' easy, it would've been stopped by now.
