Down syndrome teen finds out her picture is "I can count to potatoes girl." (25)

1 Name: AlexThaEpic : 2012-05-02 07:42 ID:fjOIvXYq [Del]

Ok, Please understand that I'm not for this meme, I am for finding out peoples opinions. Especially since this is something that is sadly a social and (sadly) cultural phenomenon on our net. I'm not hating on trolls though, do your own thing yo.

What's the opinion of the people with the Dollars and do you think the Dollars will ever get involved?

ok look its for laughs, its not really meant to offend her but this is the Internet, thats how people are.

In time, the family will get over it. Or at least should. Tasteless humor is all over the internet; it's unstoppable. And those victims of it should take it with a grain of salt, because eventually people will grow tired of it if you stop fanning the flames.

Lmfao I swear I saw a thread about this on 4chan the other day about posting pics like these and blaming it on 9gag. It's so stupid imo.

Welcome to the Internet yo.

Mean people. I wonder how they would feel if they were insulted because of something they had. It's like kicking a person who's already down. I hope they conceive a child with down's syndrome or something just as bad, so that they'd understand.

>>6 if someone made an insulting meme about you, would you get butthurt about it, or would you toughen up and accept it

8 Name: Meow : 2012-05-03 12:00 ID:pv/VwdtI [Del]

...Actually I wouldn't give a damn... But having something like that is difficult. Do you expect her to toughen up? All I'm saying is that they ought to respect her. Would they be happy if they were in her shoes?

its actually really stupid what the mom is trying to do. by making a big deal about the picture increased in popularity and posting a story about it in the UK's most popular news site does not help. How many sites does she expect to be able to take down? plus now that the girl has grown up more it doesnt even look like her that much

When I first saw that picture, I thought it was the mom and her friend. Doesnt even look like a kid. Bitch is bein crazy for no reason

12 Name: Airai : 2012-05-04 23:03 ID:57g7iS7q [Del]

The mom is only making it worse by putting it in the spotlight. Get a grip, stop being so butthurt and let it go. It'll disappear faster if you just ignore it.

>>10 Hehe...hehehehehahahahahHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh internet!

>>11 Oh Sleep-o!

Anyways, like everyone has pretty much said, it's the internet. Grow thick skin and huge balls or don't even bother.

P.S. What her mom should be upset about is that hair cut.

I don't think it's right to use a photo of someone that you don't even know, or don't have a right to for your own personal agenda for ANY reason (including the "questionable" benefit of others). It's the golden rule; do onto others as you would have them do onto you.
That mom isn't really making things better, but at least she's trying to do something that she feels is the right thing to do.

You know, I never heard of this.
Seriously, I had no clue something like this existed, and it probably would have died away along with all the other memes that are offensive...... Until the mother went on every Morning show special, and crammed it in my face.

>>14 So... YOU! are what a SOPA supporter looks like! *point*

My biggest issue with this is that some1 took the pic, since she was a lil child when it was taken, I would assume it was a member of the family, who also allowed the pic to hit the net, and thus making it what it is. Moral of the story, be careful with the crap that you post online.

>>17 You're right. no one even really paid that much attention. but now since she's everywhere making you see it. it's all over the place. when will people realize that the best PR is no PR. if you want something to go away. stop talking about it.

as for >>14, >>18 is right. once something is posted online. it's more or less public domain. got to be careful when you post something online now a days.

fact of the matter is. if her mom wanted it to go away. she never should have started talking about it on t.v. and just let it die out. If i ever become a MEME. I'd either man up and take the hit, or own that shit and get the meme copyrighted and make T-shirts. that way you can laugh, and i get paid. I got bills. haha

what the hell u.u the mom needs ta just lighten up about it. get over it. i never even seen this meme before and its like every offencive meme. they think they r so special for reporting the meme. they rnt..

I feel bad for people who are victimized to being a meme, i have a couple that i've found of me.. but the worst thing a person could do is make it public that they know about it. It gives Trolls another situation to feed off of. Bad move on their part

23 Name: raneha!4gwArIGGFw : 2012-05-07 01:03 ID:YPA3oHeA [Del]

This is a really bad meme, and I feel sorry for that girl. However, it's a meme, and getting rid of it is impossible. It was dead anyway, but now they are drawing more attention to it.

Also, I don't see why the Dollars would get involved. It's unfair, but there's nothing we can really do. Trolls will be trolls.

>>23 exactlay nuthing we can realy do about it

25 Name: Don Iron Rebel : 2012-05-10 14:13 ID:L4b0egUU [Del]

I agree with >>23. People have and always will be pricks. We could complain all we wanted but it wouldn't change a damn thing.
It is what it is.
