hey dollars, once again the government is trying to censer us with a new bill, CISPA, it stands for Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act. it is the latest of these internet censorship and spying bills to hit the U.S unless we speak up now to stop it, CISPA will basically allow internet users to be surveilled by the government without a cause or a search warrant, which is a violation of our' constitutional civil liberties. Facebook and other big tech companies are supporting giving away our information to the government so that when they cooperate with the government they can’t be held accountable to the users whose privacy they violated. Additionally, it will allow websites like Google, yahoo, MSN and Twitter to intercept emails, text messages, and other private information that might be considered a threat to "cybersecurity.". this needs to be stopped now!

Implying anarchy are we? Now we all know that will turn out well. I'm all for freedom, but if there's no structure than nothing happens, people rob, steal, and kill each other without a 3rd party to intervene. I'm not saying that we should support CISPA, just don't take it too far.

I refuse to watch youtube videos on any goverment action due to most of them being biased, or uninformed. You should post something from a reliable source.

well with the way how things are going with our everyday lives, i am not surprised they are trying to keep justice any way they can. Technology is advancing and in order to keep citizens protected they must take rather extreme measures such as the introduction of the SOPA bill and this one (although SOPA was never passed *thank god*). i do not agree with this bill or any related to it because as with @Rikko they are limiting our internet, thus censoring us and violating our constitutional rights.

I think that if this passes they should have a warrant before they go digging through my personal stuff, even if it's just digital files.

>>8 They do. It's in the bill of rights. No search or seizure without a warrant.

I find it strangely unnerving that all of these bills are being introduced now, in quick succession. Also, doesn't the Patriot Act already allow the government to check our e-mails and personal information?

Seeing how facebook myspace twitter and all that allready sell our info to the government...
Any way the goverment just wants to prevent people overthrouing them even thogh its in our rights as a u.s. citizen and as a human being to over a goverment if we dont see it fit. So said Voltaire and agreed by our founding fathers.

24 Name: Roseykins : 2012-04-30 07:42 ID:yLgX5xwr [Del]

Wait.. What? Facebook sells our information to the Goverment?

I guess that'd only apply if you're like super wanted or something though.. Not a "normal" person like me.

However, on the topic, I don't think any of these types of polls will ever follow through, there's no way they'd allow it; if they did, there'd be a huge out rage in the race of mankind and no one wants that.. >:U

People already know that Homeland Security can view your stuff without these LAWS in place. They can also take you from your home without a warrant. Are the people outraging? Most are too busy, or too stupid to do anything about it.

These so called LAWS are only now coming into place, so the people don't have any loopholes in which they can fight back on.

sleeplogy thanks for the info
The government does get their hands on your information
They also watch google and can track where you are from google
If you don't what to let them know what you are doing, use a program such as Tor so they don't know where you are, also speaking of the government assume all events outside your house is monitored, some by CIA spy satellites and some with normal cameras near the street

Oh wow, just think of what the Gov. will find on some peoples computers. Awwwwkwarrrddd...
The gov thinks they can do whatever they want, just because they are higher up.

The police isn't just savvy enough for the modern criminal.

>>8
I agree, Mr. Shinra, but the problem is, they don't know the crime happened until they open our files.

>>17
Miss Shika I don't think hating them would help. They're trying to protect us from crime by, unfortunately, stepping on our right. Really, what are the legislators doing?

>>19
Ever heard of 1984 book by Orwell I think? Or A Brave New World by Huxley?

>>23
They do? That's stupid.

>>25
... or we don't know...

Privacy is privacy, damn it.

My dad said that Homeland Security has the powers and means to do whatever the Hell that they want to do. He was in the Military. One of the closest ways of finding out, I'm guessing. Hard to know if he knows for a fact, but he is still a credible man.

32 Name: nobody : 2012-05-01 01:47 ID:CxqWPDaz [Del]

is it just me, or does this seem like the same thing as SOPA and PIPA, except, this time instead of the government claiming that their trying to stop internet piracy, their trying to stop internet terrorism?

33 Name: Meow : 2012-05-03 11:34 ID:pv/VwdtI [Del]

Excuse my ignorance, but what does the Homeland Security do?
I find that situation terrifying.

Technically speaking, they are the top Police-type of force in the US. If I'm thinking correctly.

35 Name: Crisis !JjfHYEcdHQ : 2012-05-03 15:51 ID:DRBBc855 [Del]

>>33 They're sort of like an anti-terrorism task force. Non-military, like the FBI

36 Name: Thiamor !yZIDc0XLZY : 2012-05-03 16:29 ID:AHahjKJg [Del]

>>35 And like mentioned, they are the TOP. They are above the FBI, CIA...whatever else there is, they are the higher up on the ladder.

37 Name: Fosco. : 2012-05-03 21:08 ID:lKjBx2fv [Del]

CISPA...has many loopholes. The govt. in the name of protection are pursuing certain agendas, and the quick succession of CISPA right after SOPA/ PIPA shows how relentless the govt. is being. People beware.

38 Name: Crisis !JjfHYEcdHQ : 2012-05-04 16:33 ID:DRBBc855 [Del]

>>37 I wasnt aware that you have read the entire bill and have outlined every last detail in order to find these loopholes. Please share.

I've seen one of those pathetic things. Like you try to STEAL something in those surveillance cameras.
