Sorry, the thing below was the only physical copy paste thing on the page. There are links to the actual sources, which are usatoday, time, washington post, etc., but theyre in the picture itself.
I personally found this study to be pretty interesting, whatd you think?

I pretty much assumed the Internet was ruining our brains, even before I checked this out.

No surprise, but very interesting nonetheless.

I wish the graph included Australia but it's still good info.

So, since when was "consuming information" considered brain-rotting? I thought that was supposed to be a good thing - a mind exercise. And if we're developing the ability to multitask, isn't that also a mind exercise?

On top of that, it assumes that when we multitask, we're literally doing everything at once, and not doing things one at a time in a quick sequence. In fact, people are thinking faster when they have multiple tabs open, and saying that limits your creativity doesn't really have a basis other than the pictures they drew.

People say they're addicted to the internet as a joke - I'm sure nobody thinks they have a literal, physical addiction to it. And google search has made finding information faster than anything else in the world - how much did you learn by googling, and how fast? Probably more than if you didn't have it.

I principally dislike how many assumptions this thing jumps to. It's the same ignorant way that someone who grew up without the internet would deny the changing times, for the reason of status quo alone.

I haven't heard about most of the studies presented in this glyph, but I always hear about Google "replacing" our memory. I honestly believe this is true. I know than in a lot of my experiences in classes and in the workplace, people "remember" reading about something online, but actually don't remember any of the information. It's actually pretty scary how much we rely on google (and how much data they receive from us).
