That's right people, even with SOPA, PIPA, OPEN or even the new and scarier (YET FOR SOME GODDAMN REASON LESS TALKED ABOUT) ACTA, the American Federal Government can seize and take down just about any website out there on the world wide intrawebz. All they need to justify this action is for JUST ONE FUCKING SERVER of such a website to be located on USA grounds. Keep in mind, that does not limit them to the 50 states; ANY soil considered territory of the United States counts. Check out the article linked at the top for more info.

No, the US governement can't take down a site that was made in say Japan or Russia. They just can't, the only thing they can do is block that site coming into the US. There's a thing about SPOA, PIPA, and the other two in Khan Academy that my teacher let us watch. It explains the entire thing much better besides...it's going to end up the same way the other three did. In the corner of forgotten bills.

In a sense, it makes sense. If said 'country' uses something hosted in America to make said 'website', the Government can take it down. Just because they are using it for their country, doesn't really make it 100% theirs. If it was, and the URL was the ONLY thing American based, then they could only block it, I'd assume.
