Wow i was just thinking of putting this on the dollars! It's great to see how many people are now awars of what evil joseph kony has done and perhaps now the children of Uganda will eventually be free from this oppressor.

its a scam trust me its a scam

11 Name: Ai : 2012-03-07 21:39 ID:HWsjnt/C [Del]

Wow... whether or not if this is the scam. The publicity idea about this nevertheless is a good thing. And it's important that such news be spread. Stopping Kony is one thing.

And the corporation does need money. How are they going to keep spreading the news on the websites. Websites need money to run. And how are they making their products? Money doesn't come from trees. They too have their limits. We, as people, should be proud that there is such an organization standing up to evil on such a level.

And that's my thought on the subject.

12 Name: Misuto!M4ZBq07Cs. : 2012-03-07 23:38 ID:h8sRJs+X [Del]

No, listen.

It's a scam.

Not intentionally, but the organization running it is damned ignorant and will end up doing more harm than good.

Consider this an update - I wasn't aware until now either.

This is mostly a bandwagon issue - people are only just now finding out about things that happened 6-7 years ago, and making a fuss over it.

As my friend put it, it's like someone just now hearing about the 9/11 attacks, and showing up at New York to help clean up debris.

17 Name: Yaro Shien !lvlf3wVa7U : 2012-03-08 17:55 ID:gqJvH1c8 [Del]

To answer all of this I suggest going with the flow, and take a look at what good can come of this. Also if you noticed that people have been taking their eye off sopa and pipa.Overall don't forget that Kony is a rebel and the Uganda military and U.S military will stop at nothing to hunt him down like the dog he is, so of course the would pose with guns. Furthermore, 32% goes to the people they are helping as for the other 68% goes to get them food, water, cloths, protection and of course the expenses get those items and themselves to get to Uganda and back. But as I said go with the flow agree or shut up, this will prevent less controversy.

18 Name: Pandora : 2012-03-08 23:17 ID:IQuATwHz [Del]

Here's a news flash, this has been happening for a very long time now. Not just in the past ten years either there is way more to this than what the founder of this movement is saying. The LRA is not only in Uganda but all of Central Africa. They are not the only rebel group that does all those things either. Kony could have been stopped a long time ago with what he has done and this has even been taken up by NATO. There is enough to stop him but it's the kids under his control that stops us. It's like Sudam Husan or Usama Bin Laden that could have been stopped when Clinton was Pres. the US gov. had enough evidence to stop them but did we? This is a cycle that always will continue. In the past NINE years that guy, the one who started all this. Could have done a heck lot more but is just now really trying to do something. He has thousands of articles out there and I just heard about this last year because another student mentioned it.

>>18 NATO has taken him on, and the US as well, but when a sicko surrounds himself with kids... it's hard to kill him, altho they tried, and every such failed attempt ended with him and his army going on a rampage, killing, raping and kidnapping even more.

The picture is much much bigger then it's made out to be, he is someone that deserves the worst of death, but such is life in a lawless land.
The one thing that I dislike about all of this publicity tho, is that the group that you are advertising for The Invisible Children only give 33% out of what they get to actual humanitarian help to Africa, the rest goes for wages, movie making and publicity.

It's actually pretty genius to put the date on 4/20 since that is a national weed smoking day, the date in itself would stick into peoples heads and they would remember it. (literally if you didn't know look it up) so having the night thing would give a large group of people (stoners.) as well as active young people and various young adults to be able to really commit to something since, all people have known this feeling, the feeling that we can't do anything about our government and this helps on three major points. On Africa in general, on a war for children (always a strong point),and throughout the whole video they show the government saying no, but how we can stop them, which focus's in on the feeling of no say so over the government. The whole thing is actually something made up to help strengthen relationships between the people and the government, literally, this is all just mostly to give the U.S. government more power, since the people think there doing what they want them to do.

First of all. We only hover around 200 or so members. The "Member count" in the corner goes up whenever theres a new IP address. So those of us with dynamic IPs, or who change computers a lot bring up the count.

The people who made Kony2012 spent 18.8 million dollars on marketing and only 3.3 million on stooping Kony, just last year alone. Theyre doing it for the publicity, and not to help the children-- Also, its Uganda's affair and not ours.

See how like these chilren are suffering.
What happened if they came and took your loved ones? Stop being so selfish and help the human nature. These Children in Africa need our help to spread the word.

Fuck You America. Help the needed. ( /=A=)/

>>36 Why are you saying "Fuck You America"? We are constantly out there helping other people.
I can see how the children are suffering, I say that their parents and the children should get up and fight back as a whole. If my loved ones were taken, I'd grab my guns and go out on a vengeance streak and do what I can to get them back. I wouldn't ask for others to do it for me, I would do it myself. And its not being selfish at all, I'm simply saying that they need to learn to get up and take care of their own problems. If someone comes in and fixes every little mistake for them, how are they supposed to learn to fix the problems themselves?

For the Fuck heads that can't or wont read any of the posts before >>43. I made it a clear point a while ago there are reasons and trust me when I say the money is not going to waste, I do agree money dose go to their paycheck, but not most of it >>17. As for the military situation, we have no to some proof, but I can Photoshop info and pictures quite well too. I cant make it more clear if I wanted to. People need to think in three different mind sets to find the actual truth not the lies you hear on t.v or youtube(although there are some truths).

47 Name: マシンガン !v0GixqO39k : 2012-03-18 18:52 ID:SLFSX+Bv [Del]

>>46 I did read through the posts. And it doesn't change anything. Name calling won't change the fact that the notion of "Kony 2012" is ridiculous. As Misuto stated (>>16), this happened years ago; furthermore, the footage of IC's 2012 documentary is mostly footage from years ago. The IC is corrupt, only donating a small portion of their money to the cause. They say that their money went to their documentary, but the documentary only shows footage from years ago, from their previous documentary (it's just a recycling of clips).

Additionally, they believe in giving the money to the Ugandan government, whose army is known to rape women and pillage villages. Both Kony's army and Uganda's are just as corrupt. The other thing IC supports is U.S. military intervention.

Military intervention? You're kidding, right? Name one instance where U.S. military intervention was successful. You can't. Because it doesn't work and it won't work and it never has.

In an ending statement, if you can't do the following, you probably shouldn't say anything:
a) pronounce Kony's name (hint: it's not how you think it's pronounced)
b) point to Uganda on the map.

48 Name: Yaro Shien !lvlf3wVa7U : 2012-03-18 20:11 ID:gqJvH1c8 [Del]

>>47 Yes thank you for actually the first to listen, and am in agreement to some following statements. But you did fail at one thing I said, take a guess, come on guess, cant figure it out well you did well for your first and second attempt but you CAUSED A CONTROVERSY. To be blunt I been here long enough (like late August last year) to create and control this kind of problem. The U.S Military will do nothing yet because of the
current financial stand point, even with the help from the Invisible Children it's still a lot of money to run even a small platoon or battalion, I was in military training (USNSCC to be clear), this is one thing we have to learn to not be wasteful.
And don't test my ability's I can say the name just well and I am pretty sure Uganda is located in East Africa(Love the USNSCC).

I dont mean to be rude or disrespectful, but you need reminder that this site is for peace and solving controversy not to make it. And for anyone dose know me (ask Forte) I am pretty preemptive to get angry and and God knows what happens then. I made my fair share of mistakes on the BBS trust me. Everyone has my respect on this site (believe it or not), the only thing I ask is not to piss me off with people saying not to support a small organization (at least they are doing something) to help. Im not saying give them your money(no that be as retarded as hell, you kidding me I'm broke), what I am saying is support their cause with you voice and action.

After this post you can say what you like, Im not going to tell you what to do, I'm just saying there are people like me that will say the same.

Or, better yet, get off your moralfag ass and go to Uganda to help them yourself. Its a suicide mission, but hey. Youd be doing more than the Kony 2012 guys have EVER done for thise children.

On the contrary, we do have controversy on this site. We actually like to have debates on here if you haven't seen all the debate threads on Main and on Random. The fact of the matter is that Invisible Children has a shady past and most people won't trust them now, especially the news about the co-founder of the Invisible Children jacking off in public and vandalizing cars. Secondly, they aren't the only cause for helping children in Africa. It's okay to inform people about Kony and what he's been doing, but no one should just jump on the bandwagon because it's for a "good cause". Everyone should do research first and then decide what charity they want to donate to.

Well aren't you a conceited bastard? Why should everyone suddenly up and start taking only your feelings into consideration? If they don't feel like people should donate to Invisible Children, then they'll say so. No one's trying to target your feelings, so suck it up. It's up to the other people to listen to them or not. So don't start acting like a bigshot around here. It's not appreciated.

1. Kony hasn't even been seen in like 4 years

2. In his video he said the U.S. gov't wouldn't do anything which is bullshit. Both the Bush and Obama administrations have taken steps to aid in Kony's arrest, in cluiding finicially, and logistically aiding the Ugandan government.

3. The ugandan government is even offering a $1000 dollar reward for information leading to Kony's whereabouts and capture. If he really wanted to help, this is what he should focus on. I understand spreading awareness is good, but teenagers in America don't know anything about Kony's location...

>>72 now, now, you're twisting the facts.
1. That's true, but the LRA is known to still exist and continue his deeds
2. The video said that, but later it showed how it influenced government officials.
3. thats because the LRA is not in Uganda. its in central africa now.

Kony 2012 is full of lies don't support a flawed campaign that calls for US military intervention.

My mother once told me a story about how how the people in Peru were being killed and raped by Chile. They were helpless untill one day an Admiral of the United States Navy came across on the ship and saw what was happening. He then took action on his own; he told Chile that if they continue their actions they would go to war with the US. Chile backed off and Peru was thankful to them. I would be honored to be deployed with the US troops in Africa to stop this madness. I want to take real action to these people and although I am unable to do anything at this time, hopefully in 2 years or so I will be there. As a Dollar and as a human.

My mom was born in South Africa during the apartheid. and to make things worse, she's half british, so people always treated her horribly everywhere. She told me all these stories about everything she's seen and everything she's been through. We are also reading " A long way home; memoir of a boy soldier" by Ishmeal Beah. It all makes you realize how lucky you are.

>>47 Actually, there was one intervention of the United States that was successful. It was the Persian Gulf War. You know, the early 1990's where Saddam Hussein invaded neighboring Kuwait? The Kuwaiti government asked the US government to intervene and help repel the Iraqi Army. The U.S intervened and pushed the Iraqi Army back across the borders and secured Kuwait. I believe it was the only instance of successful intervention. There might be a few small others, but they escape me. :)

Gotta give the US one point for successful intervention. Better than 0. lol

I walk around school and find one poster with Kony. Only one cheaply printed poster on a wide large brick wall of the whole more than 300 population of kids in my school.

Have you researched Kony himself and where he is? He isn't even in Uganda anymore and hasn't been since 2006. You should really research the flaws in Kony 2012 the director was even detained recently for...reasons. Also a lot of the Ugandans disapprove of making Kony famous they say it's like celebrating their suffering.
