Yes, another anon story. Apparently some of our friendly neighborhood hackivists have been stretching their horizons.
Hackers operating with Anonymous have recently found the email accounts of several top aides to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad along with their passwords as well as hacking and doing a small bit of "redecorating" to the Syrian Ministry of Defense's website.

Among these emails were several messages on how to deal with the American public and news systems. One from 2008 was set to discuss the exact plans for the visit of former president Jimmy Carter (who sought to strengthen ties between the US and Syria) to ensure that his visit was as pleasant an unassuming as possible.

Another, and amongst the most popular, was from U.N.-based press aide Sheherazad Jaafari to Damascus-based press aide Luna Chebel over how to win American favor during Assad's Dec. 7 interview with ABC's Barbara Walters. The message, in brief, seeks to downplay the current status of Syria and frequently when more hard-hitting questions of Syria's bloody regime come into play, to force the inconsistencies of American policy.

This may not sound like to much, but it most definitely caught the Syrian government with their pants down. A copy of the message mentioned on the second account can be found in the news report here:
