The first announcement of evidently faster-than-light neutrinos caused a stir worldwide; the Opera collaboration is very aware of its implications if eventually proved correct.
although i don't know if this is really through don't you find it interesting?

Time travel HERE WE COME

Time to buy a lab coat.

Apparently nobody else watched the special they did on this a while back.
i am disappoint.

Didn't it turn out that it didn't travel past the speed of light because the instruments they used to measure the speed was off?

6 Name: Sky : 2012-01-29 21:18 ID:qss1PqGE [Del]

Yes people! time travel is now very true.

but not in OUR time... >_>

7 Name: sleepology !CHs4eVJ3O2 : 2012-01-30 00:09 ID:BxLDBs/g [Del]

>>5 it was assumed by some that that was why, but idk if proof has been found

i watched a documentary by Stephen Hawking once, and he said time travel was impossible because time slows down as we get closer to the speed of light, there for making it impossible.

He could be wrong, y'know.

That's not true, in the year 2054 we finally got Pringles to make their deliciousness into a bigger tube-
I've said too much.

>>8 Yes, that's related to the theory of relativity, and why people think surpassing the speed of light will reverse time's flow.

If the speed of light is the 0 point for the rate that time flows at, then passing it will push the rate into a negative number. I don't know jack shit about quantum physics though other than simplified concepts.

>>9 BUT WE ALREADY CAN'T STOP WHEN WE POP

WHAT WILL WE DO

11 Name: sleepology !CHs4eVJ3O2 : 2012-01-30 01:30 ID:BxLDBs/g [Del]

>>8 your pattern of thought is weird.
while going and a speed greater then avg, time will seem to be slower, because it is absorbed at a different rate.
absorbed doesnt quite fit but meh.
the closer we get to the speed of light, the more mass you gain, therefore more fuel/energy is needed to retain that speed or gain any.

Just for discussion, im pretty sure a lot of people in the lab coat community arent wanting this to be true because it would then mean that something thats always constant no longer is and we would have to find something else to base everything on

I DON'T KNOW MAN, EVERYONE GOT SO FAT THAT WE COULDN'T MOVE, RIPE FOR PLUCKING FOR THE SPACE NAZIS.

Twist ending

THE SPACE NAZIS CREATED THE LARGER PRINGLE PACKAGING TO BEGIN WITH

IT WAS A TRAP, MOTHERFUCKER

A TRAP

All this talk about time travel, but people.. "Time" doesn't exist.. thus, even with the speed of which we travel, this is a goose we will never catch.

bump sleepology do you like stories about time traveling?

17 Name: sleepology !CHs4eVJ3O2 : 2012-01-31 03:15 ID:2pR2pJyq [Del]

When they dont have holes in their logic.
as an example, theres a youtube video of a guy who "went into the future" by crawling through the space under his sink.
just that there is a huge hole. His kitchen sink wouldnt work, and he wouldnt be able to just now realise it was there.
he met his elder self, which in itself would make sense, but at the same time not.
Idk
time travel i find to be an interesting topic, but theres so many ways for it to collapse upon itself

>>17
but that's one of the interesting parts you need to find a way to not make it collapse too

screw speed of light.if u want to.move faster in space u need to explore space fold technology....on a lab far far.away.on mars or somethinf so anaccident ont screw.the human race.

Hmm, time travel would be pretty awesome! However, I would be scared if it actually existed. With all the multiple dimensions and parallel universe theories currently being developed, who knows when or where you'd end up!
Also, time paradoxes really suck.

21 Name: Kata : 2012-02-01 01:15 ID:anFEYOyr [Del]

Time Travel wouldn't be able to work...I think... since to not create a paradox you would need to kill the you inbetween the present and the past of the you from the future you.(if that made sense)And if you time travel to the future all you would be doing is sitting in "time" for the duration of the travel and even then, traveling back to the time you left from would cause lots of problems.

But im guessing ok I'm not completely ruling it out, Im just thinking it, Unlikely
