On Thursday, January 24th, the city of Austin , Texas, recieved much needed rain. Over the corse of the night, they recieved more rain then they'd had in over 5 months. The sudden and massive amount of rainfall caused flooding throught central Texas, leading to roads being closed, power outages, and physical damage. Schools in phlugerville recieved damage to many of their buses, but thankfully these damages should be fixed by this afternoon or tomorrow. Bus drivers went out again this morning to make sure there were no kids still waiting for their bus in the storm. Rescue teams were sent to help those trapped in cars and houses, and even had to rescue horses from a flooded ranch after their barn and feild had become too flooded to be considered safe. All the horses were saved, but some cattle were lost.

Just a little note about the rain we got here- after the whole summer and longer of drought, we got too much of a good thing. The constant lighting kept many people up throught the night, which was REALLY annoying.
