Japanese police have uncovered what they think may be a highly unusual and doubtless unbelievably agonising case of suicide by penis auto-severance.
Tokyo police discovered the body of a naked 49-year-old man in his apartment, dead from numerous stab wounds and a severed penis. His penis was found under the bed he was lying on.
He was found in his bloodied bedroom with the door open and the kitchen knife used to cause his death in a neighbouring room, all of which would be consistent with a murder.
However, police say his body bore no marks from him trying to defend himself, and there were no signs of a struggle in the room, which would be more consistent with a suicide.
The man was a taxi driver by profession, and had been incommunicado for a week. Police estimate he had been dead for 2 days when they found him.
Locals say he had lived at his apartment for the past 4 years, and had recently been seen engaged in repeated and noisy arguments with a woman thought to be his partner.
Witnesses report seeing the man tossing furniture into the street and engaging in physical altercations with the woman.
The nature of his wounds suggest this would have to be quite a suicide, say grisly crime commentators – “It’s the kind of suicide he would need considerable determination to complete. We have to wonder why it is police are announcing the possibility of him having committed suicide.”
Another comments that “there’s no real need to kill yourself naked, it seems like something you might do to make it look as though someone else was responsible though.”
Given these puzzling and conflicted circumstances, police are still undecided as to whether the man’s death was a suicide or a murder, and have announced they are investigating both possibilities

That method of suicide has meaning in itself. If you wanted to end your life there thousands of over the counter drugs that you can overdose from. This person if he had the resolve to stab himself multiple times then slicing his wrists would have been much easier and faster. I've been stab it hurts like a bitch, stabbing himslef mutiple times would be extremly painful. The act of severing his phallus is obvisouly related to his sexuality. To do such shows that maybe he felt that he failed as a man or guilt for something he did. If someone did this method of suicide why not leave a confession or note explain why he did it? For a person to go to such lengths in order to commit suicide he would experience a great about of pain. People commit suicide in order to run away from the pain of this world. It just doesnt make sense to me.

He was a maniac, but he probably cut off his thing for a specific reason. I'm not saying it was a smart choice or that was reasonable in any sort of way, but since he might've had mental issues, it would explain that very well. Maybe Desmond is right and it really was his sexuality that bothered him. Maybe he wasn't crazy. Maybe he just wanted the attention. You see, you can never really know these things unless you've, seen it first hand, or unless you were in that persons shoes. Sad but it's the truth. It doesn't make sense. Life doesn't make sense. The best thing we can do is make it through the best we can and enjoy it.

28 Thats what I was getting at, if it was suicide the method doesnt make sense. Even crazy people go by some logic. Not that their logic makes sense from reasonable stand point. But even a insane mind follows a thought process. 26 I was refering to his sexuality pertaining to a possible guilt he would have felt if he had commited suicide. No possible way this can be conisdered a cry for help. There were mutiple stab wounds to the stomach, thats a deliberate way to kill yourself. You can easly puncture any number of organs. There is no going back from that. Slit wrists can be stiched, O.D.ers and those who try to hang themselves can be resesitaited. Someone who purpose killed themselves by stabbing himslef, then while bleeding out and experiencing a large amount of pain this person cuts off his penis. But your telling me that this person would then have to will to go to a different room to what? Die more comfortably? Not moving will not stop the pain of a stab wound let alone mutiple stab wounds. This has definate meaning. So why then did he not leave a message? A bloody scribbling on the wall? A journal of some kind explaining his reasons. Its not a matter of having the right reasons. There is no "right" or "correct" reason for killing yourself. Anyone who chooses to commit suicide whether it be deliberate or a cry for help has serious mental issues to begin with. When I said this doesnt make sense I should have written this in no way could have been a suicide. He was obviously murdered, the perpetuater is most likely a women. Whoever did this planned it out-They had access (the door wasnt mentioned as being kicked-in) so this person was either let in or had a key. And had time they knew that the girlfrined wouldnt be there because of the fight so it was in all likelyhood it was either the girlfriend or someone the other was possibly seing on the side. Assuming the details of the newspaper are accurate. Btw Im not just guessing Ive taken forensic science and psychology.

there actually was a case like that long ago in japan too. like, this mistress was joined by her lover and spent a week doing... you-know-what and then the mistress suddenly left, saying she'll be back, but she never did. When the maids inspected the room, they found the guy without his 'thing'.
the police searched for the lady then found her in an apartment. there she greeted them and produced from her chest the guy's 'thing'. really weird. that story was used to scare husbands for a period of time. i think it was the story of an O-Sada or something. read it in a book somewhere...
