Rick Perry Campaign Ad (42)

1 Name: Kumo !NC09qbtR1Q : 2011-12-08 17:50 ID:VOxHh/Tt [Del]

So, I was shown THIS ad by a friend earlier today and i felt that it was relevant to a few threads already posted here on the BBS in news and on the main, and i wanted to know what everyone though about it.

It seems to me that with things like the NDAA and the economic problems in america, that this advertisement for candidate Rick Perry is not only wrong sentimentally but also has very little relevance to the problems facing Americans. so i pose this question... WHY? why does Perry think that THIS is the message he needs to send out to get himself elected?

because Rick Perry is retarded.
Pretty simple.

>>2 i agree, but i feel like there is a large number of people that support him. too many people. and that a sickeningly large ammount of people will have this very ad sway them into voting for him. why do people think this way and place so much importance on trivial things like this when there are so many other things that HAVE to be taken care of?

better yet, he used the same jacket that one of the actors wore during the Brokeback Mountain movie.

This is just my opinion, but it's possibly because this is one of those issues that people actually have strong feelings about, and are willing to put in the effort to rally behind the side they're on. Especially something like this, where it's based more on a matter of personal belief, so people are less likely to change their minds about which side they're on. It also works as a lovely distraction from those issues that are more pressing (like the economy).

>>7 it really is just exactly what you said. politicians and people with power annoy the fuck out of me. I am right now listening to how big of a D bag our superintendent of our school district is through interviews he's given.

As someone who lives in Texas, I can say the largest demographic of people that vote for him are the ones with the smallest brains. Their logic for defending him (and even themselves in other arguments) is flawed. The reason he has so much support is that the viewpoints of people in the state of Texas are drastically different from that of the rest of the country, and sadly this state has the 2nd largest (I believe) population of the nation.

>>9 a.k.a too many people following him, lol. but what worries me isnt just that people support him because they're idiots, but also because they are stereotypical democrat hating fucktards whocan't make their own decisions. i have nothing against republicans, democrats do it too, but this country has a large problem with just bandwagoning into politics.

>>10 Basically.

Religion might as well just be kept out of politics altogether.
Voting for one that shares your religious beliefs doesn't mean they have any expertise on how to fix the economy. At this point, I think Gingrich is truly the only Republican worthy enough to fight Obama in the next election. Mainly because he hasn't done anything completely retarded (Romney, Bachmann, Cain, Perry) yet.

14 Name: Yatahaze !E/8OvwUzpY : 2011-12-09 15:37 ID:8J+AIykr [Del]

Also, I want to add if Perry wants to end "wars on religion," he should stop trying to make one happen.

15 Name: Kumo !NC09qbtR1Q : 2011-12-09 15:37 ID:K5fwFkqu [Del]

>>13 not only that, but lots of candidates try to make it seem like this country was founded on christian values, when in fact the founding fathers were deists that put specifically in important legal documents that it is NOT founded upon ANY religious values.

People keep following this.. This.. Retard, for lack of a better word, because they're desperate and when people get desperate they usually turn to the worst. This "worst" is Rick Perry, a bible-thumping dumbass who's playing to the people's emotions rather than their logical sides. It's sad that people keep following him but whatever, when we have no more freedom in America, people will again have their emotions played towards Anarchy, rather than strict order. Cause we wanna be "free"

Btw, you guys to do realize that there is no way this guy will be president right? As is, it's very doubtful that he'll even be nominated by republicans for pres, and if he is, even better, it'd make people's choice at the ballot box that much easier.

I don't really agree about religion making the U.S. stronger. Religion really tears ppl apart. Look at the history of the world. Most wars are caused by difference in faith

See I think that it is just plain stupid for someone to hate on one group of people. I mean the U.S. is all about equality. So why can't we live up to what we preach?

39 Name: sleepology : 2011-12-13 13:33 ID:qmu8/wpd [Del]

Hes trying to gain one specific groups support, but is also gained a massive other group.
your move rick perry.

A friend of mine mentioned that a while ago, and when I actually saw it, that video depleted my faith in the world. However, when I saw the large amount of angry, red dislikes, I felt like my faith had increased just a little bit.

I have no idea as to how Perry thinks that this is going to earn him a majority of votes, but I agree in that he's only using an emotional appeal. An appeal that doesn't work on me, though.

The front runner in the GOP primary is up for grabs.
everyone is playing to there party's base with anti gay and attack ads insted of talking about the real issues. And the fact that the company's and super pacts that fund mr perry would not back his funding if he started talking about the real issues.
