A Miami Gardens, Fla., "doctor" was arrested for allegedly injecting cement into a woman's butt, police say.
Oneal Ron Morris, a self-proclaimed doctor, is accused of injecting a mixture of cement, mineral oil and Super Glue into a woman's buttocks during a home augmentation in May, 2010, The Miami Herald reported.
The woman became sick with flu-like symptoms soon after the painful procedure and went to the hospital. Being too embarrassed to tell doctors what had happened to her, police say, she left the hospital before tests were done. She repeated this at another hospital.
"In a world where body image is in the forefront of our media, this woman, for whatever reason, thought that this was the answer and she almost lost her life,'' Miami Gardens Detective Michael Dillon said.
Several weeks later at a third hospital, doctors found the woman had been injected with chemicals, police said. The doctors called the state Health Department, which contacted the victim, who finally provided Morris' name.
It took investigators until March 2011 to track Morris to an address in North Lauderdale, but whenever they showed up, Morris was nowhere to be found.
On Friday, a Miami Gardens police officer stopped by the address once more and found Morris, who was arrested at the scene.
Morris, a transgender woman, was charged with practicing healthcare without a license and causing great bodily injury.
