I...I couldn't even watch it after he started hitting her with the belt. Very rarely do I have violent thoughts, but that video evoked all sorts of wrath and vengeance in me. To the point that I would love to beat that man to within an inch of his life and leave him bleeding and completely broken in the streets. I always try as hard as I can to keep to my personal philosophy of "be the better person". But things like this I have such a hard time tolerating.

Clearly this man or I should I say "Judge" has angry issues. Even if his daughter downloaded music illegally doesn't mean you have to beat your own daughter with a belt. Surely he could of grounded her for a month or took her allowance away but nooo, he had to beat her with a belt! >.> Surely he just dug himself his own grave...

I couldn't finish the video. It was absolutely repulsive. The father yelling profanities at his daughter while hitting her with the belt while Hillary was pleading him to stop.
Kudos to you Hillary Adams for being able to catch your dad in the act.

I'm not totally against "spanking," but he crosses the line. You hit them once or twice, they cry, then you leave them alone. Not continue to beat them. It's especially inappropriate considering she was 16, and simply grounding her or just taking her computer away probably would have taught her a lesson. But I also think that since he is a judge, he has a stronger sense of justice / his reputation is important, which would be why he reacted so strongly to his daughter downloading illegally. I also don't think we've heard the entire story. Either she just wants to screw her dad over, or she genuinely wants there to be an intervention of the abuse, which apparently "continues to this day." If the latter case is true, I don't understand why she waited so long to release the video to the public eye, so again, we need the entire story. Until then, she doesn't seem like much of a victim, so she doesn't have my sympathy. I also want to know if she was the kind of child to repeatedly ignore what her parents told her, which would lead to the severe punishments. Sounds a little like Hot Sauce Mom, to me. If that were the case, the family made a huge mistake in making the beatings more intense rather than solely using a different alternative, like grounding.
Yeah, the parents were wrong for what they did, but don't immediately jump to the victim's side just because she was defenseless in the video. The dad even made a statement saying "[she] posted the clip to get back at him for telling her he would be reducing the amount of financial support he gives her and taking away her Mercedes." Right now this just seems like she's finally using her blackmail. The idea is not impossible. Meanwhile some of us who would actually have a case against our parents for abuse in the past have long ago gotten over it.
This is really suspicious, and I hope the media will at least focus a little on the daughter's own motives, instead of just pointing fingers at every parent that disciplines their child like this comes along. If she really wanted the dad to get help or change his ways, she shouldn't have waited for everyone else to step in for her, 7 years later, just because the dad is now (maybe) punishing her for something else by reducing the financial support she got and taking away her car.
