Since I know you've all been waiting on the edge of your seat for another installment, I'll sate your hunger for good, unspun news.

So, it seems Irene has a brother; hurricane Lee is moving along the east of the US, just the same as our previous hurricane that ended...15 minutes ago? These are the remnants though, so the actual hurricane aspect of Lee will probably be gone. Georgia has announced a flood watch, since they're predicting anywhere from 5 to 7 inches of rain. Not as threatening but it would still kind of suck to be swept away when walking to go get food.

Since everyone wanted it, here's an update in Libya. Leaders of a tribe of pro-Gadhafi people, called Bani Walid, are split on what to do now that they are literally surrounded by the rebels. According to Colonel Ahmed Bani, a spokesperson for the rebels, they will most likely surrender instead of taking on an offensive. And Gadhafi is still running. So, yeah. At least the rebels control next to all of the country now.

And, as I like to top everything off with something related to space, veteran Mars rover Opportunity has discovered what scientists call, "different from any rock ever seen on Mars." This piece of minerals is composed of the same things as volcanic rocks, only with more bromine and zinc. Opportunity found this after it's 2 year study of crater Victoria, and was on its way to study crater Endeavor. It found this foot stool sized thing at the rim. Scientists speculate there may be more of this in the crater. They also say the rocks around the rim of the crater were formed during a less acidic, more water-filled time (furthering their favorite wank that there might have been water on Mars, then passing it off as a fact).
