First up, we have some information on hurricane Irene. As all of you know, it's been going around fucking the fuck out of everything, and is currently on the US's eastern sea board. One place hit hard are the numerous Bahama islands, where everything looks about the same as Konoha after Pain got done with it.

Next up, at least 18 people died in a UN car bombing in Abuja, Nigeria. A radical Islamic group has admitted to being responsible They are said to be a local group called Boko Haram, supposedly linked to al Qaida (didn't see that coming). Nigeria's president, Goodluck Jonathan, says they're going to tighten security to try and prevent further danger. Hopefully that strategy works for once.

Steve Jobs has officially resigned from being CEO of the Apple company, with Timothy Cook taking his seat. With pancreatic cancer and liver transplant weighing him down, Jobs seems to be unable to do the job any longer, the reason for the swap. Cook has been Jobs' long time Number 2, making the choice as his replacement a logical one. It is unknown how the company will be affected due to the changes, but Apple's stock took a hit on the day of the announcement.

In other news, Japan's prime minister, Naota Kan, has resigned as well. He has stated this is because of his low approval ratings as of late, mainly due to the tsunami/nuclear crisis the country faced not long ago. It is unknown who will lead the country as of yet; the Democrats will vote on this Monday.

Lastly, scientists have confirmed they have discovered a planet made of diamond (Ben 10 wasn't that far off, it seems). According to the report, this planet orbits a pulsar star, a dead version of a neutron star. The theory is that the planet is so full with carbon, that it actually solidified into a substance the same density as diamond. In addition, it is also suggested to have some form of oxygen, hydrogen, and helium on the planet. No word yet on whether sentient crystalline beings live there yet.

Feel free to discuss the news as you wish.

Commentary by myself: Yes, jumped the date a day. Sorry, won't happen again. Middle of the night, etc. The stories will have a bit more detail and whatnot from now on as well; this is more of a teaser to see how people like this. So, as I said, discuss.
