i came across this article in the NYT about bath salt a new drug that is legal and looking at these reaction to the drug...how come this is legal and marijuana is not.......what you guys think about it
Some of the recent incidents include a man in Indiana who climbed a roadside flagpole and jumped into traffic, a man in Pennsylvania who broke into a monastery and stabbed a priest, and a woman in West Virginia who scratched herself "to pieces" over several days because she thought there was something under her skin.
"She looked like she had been dragged through a briar bush for several miles," said Dr. Owen M. Lander, an emergency room doctor at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.

I think they're referring to this. In which case, it's not legal. At least in some states and countries. It's a controlled substance, just like Marijuana.

umm marijuana is not a controlled substance, thats one of the reason why it is illegal unlike tobacco that is a man made product, marijuana is smoked without any process involved..thus the amount coming in cant be controlled...thus the government cant tax it..thus its illegal...have you noticed that blunt raps are legal why because its a tobacco product yet everyone know thats when you go buy a a blunt rap you really going to smoke weed
as for the article it was just like with synthetic marijuana people saw a way to make some messed up crud to get people high while pleasing the government with load of cash and no one did anything to avoid it before things like this get to happen.

>>2 Oh thanks for posting that. o__o I thought they were talking about REAL bath salts. I was like, "I'M IMMUNE!!!" Then I saw your post. :< I guess I'm not immune to drugs.
Well, here's the problem with the whole "bath salt" drugs issue. They are the only drug that is completely artificial. no natural products go into it. usually drugs are made by a plant(marijuana, cocaine, exc.) which is why it is easy to identify them. Because "bath salts" are artificial, the makers can change the "recipe" every week if they wish. Police have identified over 100 different types of "bath salts" but i think they have only outlawed about 50 because the process to outlaw a drug takes so long. By the time the government outlaws one type about 5 more pop up(or so it seems). it is simply impossible to keep up with it with this current system. By the way, I've also heard of instances where people have actually tried to eat other people because they where high on that drug. Where I live it's been nicknamed the "zombie" drug.
>>12 You do realize how old this thread is, right? The OP was in the fall of 2011. Not saying it's irrelevant, but this thing was buried for a while. Oh well, goes along with that zombie thread some time ago.
