---->“The best anime tournament as selected by GAIJIN:”<----

2ch has discovered a ranking of the anime most well regarded by the hairy barbarians who dwell in foreign lands. thats what 2chan thinks of foreigners

Few could question the overwhelming worthiness of Cowboy Bebop and Evangelion, but with Boku no Pico beating Toradora and Baccano crushing Bible Black and Ghost in the Shell there is much to ponder about the results… and about 2ch’s belief that the results neatly represent the tastes of all “foreigners.”

>Boku no Pico beat Toradora
>Darker than Black beat Katanagatari

Other than that and anime I haven't seen yet, this sounds about right.
...
"That lot really likes Bebop."
The hell is that supposed to mean

Still, slamming foreigners for Railgun losing to Ghost in the Shell is a bit much.
Boku no Pico - if the poll was really taken on 4chan I'm surprised it didn't get further (Naruto dieing early does support that though)
And foreigners like Baccano because it's different, not because it was set in a foreign country. If that was true, I'd be watching Power Rangers (*cough4Kidscough*) or American television.

I'm not sure if there is something wrong with me if I can confidently say that almost nothing on that list surprised me with how it went. I've spent way too long on /a/ and /v/.

Boku no Pico going that far can only be the work of 4chan.

I'm surprised about Azumanga Daioh beating out DBZ and Madoka got so far. Other than that, nothing too surprising.

Dammit Bebop, so close!

And of course the first Fma doesn't exist on the face of the planet anymore now that Brotherhood came in all bright and shiny *rant rant*. This is my personal frustration, ignore it.

Alse I'm surprised Haruhi Suzumiya dyed so early on. I was under the impression the Haruhi phenomenon was pretty big.

FMA:Brotherhood beat Kara no Kyoukai... and Lain... in a row?

I don't even, good sir. I do not even.

Gintama lost to Baccano? I've watched both of them and I know they are awesome, but I think Gintama deserves more credit.

I really do believe some anime on that list should not have been there. Not to disrespect but I have a problem with Toradora, K-On, Azumanga Daioh, air Gear and even lucky star being on that list ( as much as I love some of those titles). The spots could have been given to more memorable or unique anime series.

>>18 Agree. They were great comedic series (or at least the first 3...never watched more than 1 ep of Air Gear) but in terms of mature story telling, character development, and author's intention they weren't that great. Bebop was a great series and I'm glad it got far.

As for the 2ch users hating foreigners, that was never new. Even today many Japanese look down on...well, everybody.

I just noticed...how did Haruhi beat Rurouni Kenshin?!! O__O

Ah, a lot of mainstream anime won over really good anime. :< Well, it is popular vote, so not much you can do about it.

Still with Bebop won though.

Wow, I knew Evangelion was good but I didn't expect this.

What they should've done is pair the animes within the genre. that what would've made the voting so much clearer. on the list you'd see comedies mixed with action or horror.

i can't believe that! but hey. popular vote...i wish that baccano would've won!

Dammit! All my favorite animes lost so quickly! Except Baccano, of course!
