UAE military base accidentally infects Australian soldiers with HIV
Australia's Defence Force chief has confirmed a medical sterilisation blunder at a coalition base in the Middle East may have exposed Defence personnel to blood-borne diseases.
The Defence Department last week warned soldiers who had passed through the medical unit that they may have contracted blood-borne diseases.
It says it is possible personnel treated at the hospital may have contracted diseases such as hepatitis or HIV.
