Otaku in Japan don’t have it any easier with the problem over there extending into countrywide low birth rates not helped by the higher number of geeks deciding to go all the way into the recluse or hikkikomori lifestyle.
Looking to cash in on this problem, a marriage agency in Tokyo has opened a new website specifically for men and women of the otaku persuasion. For a mere $74 a month, otaku can sign up for the website, fill out a profile and begin their search for their otaku match. This isn’t the first time in history that someone has gotten the bright idea to pair otaku with each other. As has been noted, Washimiya Shrine (made famous by Lucky Star) has hosted their own otaku matchmaking event which saw more than 500 otaku register hoping to find their 3D match.
Unfortunately this is yet another service only open in Japan
