I'm calling out to other members of Dollars - It doesn't matter your gender or sexual presence, but please help us end this discrimination.

Yes, I know the link says 'National' Day of Silence and I will be honest in saying that I didn't make the page (a friend of my did), but I believe that we should be able to show our support all around the world - right?

Unable to close your mouth for a day? That's fine - but try to wear something to show your support. I know it may be a little silly of me, but I plan on covering my mouth with something - whether it be tape (OUCH!) or a scarf and writing 'DOLLARS' on it. Yes, I know that is some advertising on the side, but it would also show a collective support.

Well, now that I have written that I think I shall go to bed and stop harassing the (wrong?) forum with my ideas for now...but I will be back.

I would definitely support this, but I don't think exposing 'DOLLARS' like that is such a great idea. If we look at it rationally, there may be some, if not few, people in Dollars who are actually against homo- and bisexuals. I doubt you know everyone who use this site (I mean, none of us do) so there's no way for you to tell whether everyone is in support of this. And I say, if you don't have full support, don't represent the group. Or else, it may turn into a form of hypocrisy.

ooo dollars clothes would be awesome 8D...if it didn't undermine the foundation of dollars....but it would still be cool XD

I participate in this day every year {it’s on April 15th this year}. It is a little hard to go out of the norm and talk to your friends like you normally would, but if you make put some effort in to it, the rewards are astounding.

You get people you don’t know smiling at you and giving you compliments about your bravery, if you have friends that are involved as well, it feels like the bond between you could physically appear at any moment, you notice the world and your surroundings more and can end the day with whatever you get out of your personal experience. I say try it, at least.

The actual website {http://www.dayofsilence.org/} isn’t in full support of duct tape over your mouth, but you can do it as long as you’re OK with it and if your school OKs it {if you’re in school}. But be warned about tape over the mouth; while it evokes the response that we’re looking for, prepare for some pretty derogatory things being said to you and {heaven forbid, but it happened to my friend} the tape possibly being ripped off by some ignorant person.

Let’s spread the word. Because things, they are a-changin’. :]

This is my first year doing it - actually first year of knowing about it...

this is the second year i'm doing the day of silence, and i encouraged my friends to do it too. i'm really exited and have been working on making a necklace of the "speaking card" that i got from the Day of Silence website. The card would just hang there, so everyone will know why i'm silent, so i don't have to explain it myself over and over again. and i will magically wear it... and am going to wear the color red also, because that is the official color of DOS. (maybe i'll even draw a rainbow on my forehead...)

Well unfortunetly for me im in the military so I can't participate in these kinda things if I want to keep my job...
But in 6 months it's going to become officaly an openly gay military! O how the guys on the ship will react to this XD. But seriously, why do people care if someone likes to do it up ta but, it's nasty and unaturaly but if thats what they really love then watever; the important thing is that their happy to be who they really are...

i dont hav skool on tht day (batle of the flowers) so id already be being quiet cuz im stuck at my house in my room. so unless i go out nd do somthng. . . tho tht wont do much ethr. My friend and i whr gonna do it on thursday instead. (btw som ppl do it on th 15th rathr thn 16th)
