Literally copy-pasted this from the guideline, it can't get any simpler than this so read it goddamnit.
Before creating a mission, consider the following points:
- Have I been here for less than three days?
- Am I really eager to make a mission?
- Will I show commitment to this mission?
- Is this mission necessary and relevant?
- Does it have a clear objective?
- Can everyone participate in it?
- Is this mission original?
If the answer to 2 or more of these questions is ‘no’, you’re probably making a mission just for the sake of making a mission, because the hype has you excited.
So if you are pretty new to the site, we recommend putting your first few missions in the
Smaller Missions Thread first. This archives a ton of simple mission ideas that have been submitted by the community. Try a few out while you're at it.
Once you're ready to move on to your own thread, click the View All Threads button to access an archive of all the posts in this board. To search through them, press CTRL+F on your keyboard (CMD+F on Mac) to open up a search bar. Look for keywords related to your mission idea to make sure nothing similar exists.
If it's all clear, post your idea here in
this thread for feedback. You may want to try your thread out on the Test Board first to get input and make sure the formatting is working properly.
If your mission has anything to do with:
- Smiling
- Being nice
- Generically 'helping [insert type of people here]'
- Cleaning graffiti
- Putting flowers in [insert random place here]
- Writing things down on a piece of paper / mirror / text message / etc.
Then it is likely to either be irrelevant or
already in the Smaller Missions Thread.Remember that this website has been running for over five no ten years, the majority of your ideas have probably already occurred to others and you should make sure to check thoroughly through the List of all Missions to make sure you haven’t duplicated a thread.
