So, I just saw this one thread about how and when we should recruit new Dollars. One of the reply's was how the password is all over the internet nowadays, and this site really isn't secure from trollers, or people that want to flood us with spam and ads. Has anyone ever asked about a possible password change? I think it would be a good idea after discussing it with a couple other Dollars. Leave your opinions down below. Thanks.

This has come up countless times on the main and suggestions boards. The password page isn't even functional.

the password page is for aesthetic purpose only, it doesn't even secure the website.

I think we should change it to protect this site otherwise it could be hacked and deleted, we could lose this site someday

I understand that the password page is for optics only, however, it would be wise to create a secure password page and a password that is only for the people who really wish to participate on an elemental level. Given that there are so many trollers and fakes on this site, it would be a nice change of pace, and it would be helpful for the people who take this site seriously and actually care about doing good in the name of the Dollars.

I’m new here and I see the good this site does for people that need an outlet but also see how many people come on here to troll members who want to take things seriously. How would we be able to implement a password change and then get the new password to those that take this seriously.

let me ask, how did you get in this site for the first time? Inserting baccano as the password is out of the question, how will new members join the Dollars if such thing exist. Think of the future members, how can they join if the password is not something they knew.

Sure, people can enter here freely from all over the world, but if you want to keep it troll free, which is nearly impossible, then you have few option to consider like for example contact form on the main login site, so you could actually see how many members are joining; mentor program where new members are monitored through some time period and later added to the community; even penalty points, are some answer or simple register form (forum like) could be really helpfull, but you need people who build it, and moderate it.

If you just change the password that doesn't solve the problem, because there's always a way to get it.

I think the password is just there for show, to make this site look as close to the anime as possible. I mean, this site is supposed to be open to everyone. I don't think many people care about others knowing the password.
Even if we change it, there is no guarantee that trolls won't find their way in, and, like previous replies said, new members won't be able to join. There's also a chance that old members will spread the new password.

can we not bump this cause this is not a mission.
