I'm sure you've heard this by now, but today, the FCC is voting on whether or not to repeal Net Neutrality. And if they do, the internet will never be the same. Everyone in America will have to pay extra for every website they have access to.

What is net neutrality and why is it important?

Net neutrality is basically freedom to do whatever u want on the web, no limits, you can visit websites at the fastest speed your internet will go which is like our internet today.
It’s important because freedom of speech (which this technically is to some degree) is a right of everyone and what they want to do is block that privilege from you searching any websites you want at any speed, and charge you money for it.

So like if u want to go to google it could possibly be $5, oh go to your email? Another $5. And the price could be higher depending on how greedy they are. This could add up to maybe possibly around $1,000 or more JUST TO USE THE INTERNET

And if you know how America is currently struggling with homelessness and how people currently have trouble paying for only food. It could make the internet unreachable. Aka only a “rich” luxury item.

It’s not just that but there’s also businesses and schools that require the use of the internet as well. If it’s like 9pm on a Sunday when I’m researching a paper I’m not going to have time to go to the library, or if my parents are currently busy.

So how can I help?

Sign This Petition! They only need a few more signatures to get to two million! This is for anyone, whether you live in the US or not.

Text RESIST to 50409. This bot will help you find a way to speak out. Mostly for US residents.

Call your representatives!! If you live in the US, it's SUPER important that you call your representatives and let them know that you firmly support keeping net neutrality. If they're against it, don't be afraid to say that you won't be supporting them in the next election.

Call 202-759-7597. If you don't know your representatives, this will help put you in touch with them.

Go to battleforthenet.com . This is an AMAZING site, you guys. It has a lot more information than I could fit in this post, plus other ways to help, such as email.

Personally speaking, my family cannot afford to pay for each entertainment website. Which means I won't have access to YouTube. Which means, no more videos for me! And no more making them, either. A ton of channels would die, mine included.

The vote has been won by the FCC. 3 to 2. Now its all up to Congress. I hope they have some sense left in them.
Now that that's settled I guess we should be more worried about Ajit himself, let's get him fired! :D
If we dont he could be doing this stuff for 5 more years.
