This site reminds me of how much crazy weird things you can find on the internet. My mission is not easy, but it is simple. I need information on cicada3301. It's a puzzle that spans the whole of earth, and delves into the dark shadows of the internet. But most people can tell me little to nothing about why. Who would post flyers on every continent hide code in pictures, and expect you to decipher welsh poetry to solve the largest puzzle in history. I want to know why.

The internet say that the cicada is a secret organization that plans on take over the world, like the illuminati or the la-li-lu-le-lo, and they're recruiting great minds to achieve that.
People who finds the flyer were never seen again, maybe they were recruited?

To piggyback on that the posters they put up were codes of some sort through puzzles and pictures. They were used to recruit codebreakers and it's asked that those that solved them were recruited.It spanned from 2012 to 2015 but it's likely still going on in high secret.

Not secret. Round 6 is going on as we speak. They start a new puzzle every January. I know general info about the game, I want to know who is behind it. What is cicada3301, what are they trying to achieve? Who spends millions creating the most complex puzzle ever. here is the current puzzle in Norse runes that can be translated into a short poem that has the whole internet stumped.
