As some of you may have heard by now, there was a mass shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, FL last night, resulting in at least 50 dead and even more injured. Orlando is my hometown, and many of my friends and family still live there. They are all okay, but my heart goes out to the friends and family of those who are dead and injured.
There is a large call to donate blood in the Orlando area to people who gravely need it. If you can donate, I'm sure it would mean the world to the people who need it right now. Since I'm in the area right now, I will go myself and see if I can get to one before they close this afternoon.
If you cannot donate, your prayers will also be greatly appreciated.

I actually did hear this. I can't donate blood, as I'm not old enough yet to do that, but I am very upset over this. Things like these really make me lose my faith in humanity, plus when this was apparently the WORST mass shooting in U.S. history, it makes my faith in humanity go down in the negatives. I will, however, hope and wish that the others that were injured will be okay. I will also hope that they find the person that caused this if they haven't already.

It sucks being on a completely different side of the country when things like this happen. I want to help somehow but I don't know how. Does anybody know of other ways to help than donating blood?

This situation is already upsetting to me, though I'm too far north to be of any physical assistance. If you need prayer, That's what I've got... And a fantastic Grandma living pretty close to there. In the end I don't have much ways to aid you.
