Hello Dollars members. If you have been going through youtube these last few weeks, you may have heard about what is happening as of this moment. There have been many YouTube channels getting their videos either be hit by strikes, and claims of copyright and taking the revenues of each videos per channel, even when those videos go under the fair use. However even then, the time it takes to remove these claims go to the point that many youtubers are losing money, time, and even their channels. Even worse, there's no penalty for making these strikes and claims, even when it's against the law.

Right now many youtubers such as the Nostalgia Critic, Anime America, I hate everything, and more are now trying to stand up for their right of fair use and freedom of speech.
What I ask now. For you to spread the word and ask youtube, Where is the Fair Use? #WTFU

Well as far as money goes fair use only applies if you are not profiting. If you make any money at all, it's copyright infringement.

Normally i agree, except the many companies that are claiming these strikes and penalties have distribution rights, not actual ownership. And even when presented that it's under the fair use, which allows the person to use videos for criticism or education, they'll still keep the claim until it expires after 30 days or they take it down, which is extremely rare, or they make another another claim which you have to wait another 30 days. Hell even if you try to contact them, all they have to do is make the claim and wait, they don't even have to provide evidence, they say it and it happens. There are even people who getting strikes on their video just because they mention a movie or a song, even if they are not making any revenue and show no video or audio in the media they mentioned. the system itself is very one sided and near impossible to give the youtube creators a chance to fight back.
