So I had this idea, I'm not sure if it's been mentiond before, if it has I apologise!
So why don't we set up a youtube channel where we would post videos of social experiments and how we can help the public. A good example is if you give a homeless person some food or money you can also ask them wether you can interview them and video the interview then we the dollars can put a video up of you doing this and make the public more aware of the problems within our society. If you have any other ideas regarding what type of videos to do just post your ideas here and then we can do it and post it that way we are also making the dollars more noticible. Just an Idea :)

Also if this is something we want to do then we can make an e-mail where all the videos will be sent so they can be edited or posted on youtube. If there are people here who are good at editing and would like to help then message me on wow.camilla@hotmail.com and I can give you the e-mail details so that you can access the videos. I always have time so I would gladly post the videos. If you want to edit the video yourself then feel free to do it, then I will just post it :)

In the anime everyone knew the Dollars existed, people just could't do anything about it because they didn't know who the members where,
the point of the youtube channel it to prove we exist, and to inspire others to do good, we are not trying to identify who we are

no one has to put their face in the video, it doesn't even need audio if there is some type of music and/or subtitles to make up for it.

the Dollars are staying "hidden" by not giving out their names, faces, and the place that they live, the same way that the Dollars in the anime stayed hidden.


We don't stay "hidden" by trying to keep people from knowing about us (like we are the illuminati or some shit)

Me n firelily did have a discussion regarding being hidden or anonymous. Respectfully I disagree with firelily and agree with rune_VOCs. I believe secrecy could most certainly benefit us in the long run.

The problem with that is if we stay anonymous the dollars will eventually disappear, no one will no about us so no one will join and less people will go on the website as it will remain quiet boring and empty, just my opinion! Btw great idea to do the videos on youtube will definitely support 😊

Not entirely true Mia. This site and group has been going since 2010. Im not saying to not recruit. In fact you have little knowledge of what my opinion on how the recruitment process would be. Ok , but I don't think we should just give out the password to the world. We don't want Dollars to be flooded with people who aren't serious are we ? The YouTube channel would be just fine to show people and to inspire them make good deeds for the world.

Do the videos sent in necessarily have to be a social experiment, or can it be just the person informing others on important topics? For those that don't have much time to get out and do social experiments, or that have social anxiety.

As I said earlier we are not planning on giving out the password or even saying that we have a website we are simply going to do the videos as the dollars, we are always going to say that the dollars did this video but we are not going to say who we are or where we come from, I bet half the people who watch our videos won't even know about the anime! They will probably think its just a group of kids that got together and set up a youtube channel, still at least then we are doing something as the dollars, something big. We are going to make the people more aware of social issues and that can make a difference which is the important part!

As CAmiLLa keeps saying, this videos would be just to show people about the world around them, since not every news channel or periodic is completely honest. They change the news according to the politics and sometimes don't show all the issues, small or big that happen around them. We can post those social experiments, I like the idea. Maybe we can also post some small tips, like how to take care of the environment, or show news about your country that not many people knows, like the petitions on the other thread I'll put the link later. But in fact, this won't be to just show everyone there's a site and a password to join and all that, it's not recruiting, it's opening people's eyes to reality.
I don't get why people keeps saying to keep the dollars hidden in this post, they can talk about that in other thread, since in this one it's already very clear that the password won't be spread.
apart from that, the idea is really cool and I'll try to do something if I find a free time or something.

I think it'd be cool to have hidden cameras and then have people do extremely nice things for others, or do something that would make someone laugh. It'd be better than some of those awful mean pranks some people do. Like the secret agent one where they pretended to chop someone's head off. The person who witnessed it was so scared! It was awful! Have someone responsible to have youtube acc with pass, that wouldnt even be revealed here. That one would communicate with others in drr chats or so. Pick that video and upload it. But website is the issue, yes. I kinda think it`s not that important to be as close to the thing, that anime had. BUT DOLLARS SHOULD NOT BE RECOGNISED. That means we dont have to call ourselfs like that in youtube. We could give us a name that would not us look like dollars. No, im sorry. You can make the videos, you can make it under the dollars name. I just want people to be aware that this site isnt as secure as we may believe. I wanted to make members aware of the cons. Most members were just jumping on here simply saying it was a great idea. But very few times did i see a member say and think "hmm, maybe this isnt such a great idea.", and anytime i saw that people shot him down. They would say what they believed about the topic. We need to consider the good and bad of anything we do. It could come to bite us in the ass later. Dont get me wrong, what you have done has actually spiked up recruitment quite a bit. But lately ive been seeing more trolls. There are no rules, there is no leader. Do what you think is right, but please think about both sides of the coin.

I think the anime review isn't such a bad idea either but we should create a separate playlist for it so it doesn't merge with the missions/ society videos

I think the dollars are not only those who help, but also a community that shares knowledge and varied topics are discussed. so I think that in the you tube channel is not only missions but also entertainment, we also would take advantage of varied knowledge to get together and make a movie or an animation, or a game or do gameplays etc.

i need a camera so i can make better videos =_=

YAY today should be the day to have a video or a few... its going to be on my phone cause the camera i was originally going to use is missing. Im going to send it thu email to you CAmiLLa. Hopefully you can find your friend to edit... its going to be hard to find a good place for my phone so it can capture what im doing... unless my friend can carry it and follow me around... well take turns of course :) we only have 3-4 hours so lets see what we can do... wish us luck!

I'm interested! I go to a couple conventions, and a bunch of my friends practically attend as a lifestyle, so maybe we can post interviews of cosplayers and such. My friends and I are also planning on hosting a Durarara cosplay ask panel at a convention next year, so maybe footage of that would be nice.

Also, with the whole world bettering idea, I'm fairly knowledgeable with mental health, and my friends are big into LGBTQIA+ issues, so maybe we could post informing or discussion type videos on that?

That's not exactly an original idea, but its still quite helpful. I know from experience that people in the slums are quite grateful if even given scraps. If you want to gain a bit of good publicity for the dollars, go to a public place in your local slums, like a park, and set up a table of food, giving some out for free. Im sure they would appreciate it very much, and you can say something like "sponsored by the dollars" to get word out.
