YULIN DOG MEAT FESTIVAL (29)

1 Name: Shino Kagaya : 2015-06-19 14:58 ID:JqP3OE2k [Del]

ANYONE WHO LIVES IN THE PROVINCE YULIN, IN CHINA, PLEASE HELP SAVE THE DOGS (and cats) WHO ARE GOING TO BE SLAUGHTERED, ABUSED AND EATEN AT THE YULIN FESTIVAL TOMORROW.

THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT DOESN'T GIVE A DAMN, SO DON'T EXPECT THEM TO INTERVENE. IT'S UP TO THE DOLLARS TO GO IN THERE AND SECRETLY SAVE AS MANY ANIMALS AS WE CAN! UP UNTIL NOW, THIS DOLLARS SITE HAS BEEN A USELESS MESS OF BORED PEOPLE. MAKE IT USEFUL AT LEAST JUST THIS ONCE. ANYONE WHO LIVES THERE CAN SNEAK INTO THE FESTIVAL. JUST PRETEND TO BE A PART OF IT, THEN, GRAB ANY LIVING ANIMAL YOU CAN BEFORE THEY'RE MASSACRED AND EATEN.

For more details on the festival itself, all you need to do is search it on google. They're not hiding it and prior to what everyone's saying against them; THEY AREN'T CANCELLING THE FESTIVAL. SO, PLEASE. HELP IN ANY WAY YOU CAN.

A warning, though: anyone against the festival can be beaten. There's no law in China that gives rights to protests.

ARE WE THE REAL DOLLARS OR JUST A BUNCH OF USELESS NERDS?!
COME ON, PLEASE, JUST THIS ONCE.

update

This picture taken on June 20, 2015 shows animal-loving Yang Xiaoyun going around buying some 100 dogs at Yulin dog market, in southern China's Guangxi province.

Animal-loving Yang Xiaoyun paid about $1,500.00 to save around 100 dogs in the southern city of Yulin on Saturday.

Last year, she saved 360 dogs from the festival. She must travel 1,652 miles from her home to Yulin, where she hopes to purchase as many dogs as she can and bring them home to her safe house.

Doubt it.

14 Name: hambae : 2015-06-25 06:56 ID:bMSzGMDW [Del]

this thread is terrible.

yeah, I cant stand the idea of hurting dogs or anything either, but it's in their culture. it's no different than people eating duck, horse, pig, cow, frog, fish, etc. people are only upset about this because they're cute and we view them as pets. otherwise, it's no different than eating any other animal so idk why people are so upset over this. let chinese people have their culture.

if people like Yang want to put a stop to this then that's different. good for her

>>14 i agree with you there, if they wanna eat dogs let them, the only reason i supported this is because there is a chance that some of those dogs had homes and they were stolen

and >>13 yeah i majorly doubt it too XD

>>14
You're not getting the point. The EATING isn't the issue.
They skin, boil, burn and chop these stolen animals ALIVE.
How many times muct I repeat this?!
It's abuse. No matter how you look at it, animal lover or not, it's WRONG.
Not to mention, it's not healthy for humans to eat dogs. There might be an outbreak of a new disease because of this. Also, no matter what kind of animal, if abused, the meat will be bad. It's already been proven before with the "mad cow disease".

>>14
Furthermore...
Dogs, pigs, cows, and chicken are meant to be eaten or else the human race will slowly die.

Dogs, ducks, etc. Are all not meant to be eaten because it's unhealthy and we already have pigs, cows, chicken, etc. We don't need other animals as food.
It doesn't matter if it's culture. It's wrong. It's unecessary. Their belief is that there will be no "evil spirits" if you eat dog meat but, last year's festival killed half of them yet, they refuse to stop. It also needs to be stopped for they themselves will all die and possibly start some sort of plague in which, innocent peoples will be affected.

>>17 I wouldn't use the point of eating dogs being bad for your health in this convo. It's extremely opinion-oriented. For example I think there's a lot of bad effects for your health if you eat pigs, probably even worse than dogs in my opinion. But yah, I don't mean your point is invalid, but there's too much controversy in it to be regarded in this. But all good *thumbs up*

>>18 Places that consume dog meat have more health problems. There are cases of large-scale Cholera, Coronavirus, Trichinellosis and SARS outbreaks that are directly linked to eating dog meat. The World Health Organisation also states that eating dog meat has been a major contributor to the spread of rabies (the dog handleres and such often get scratched or bit by the dogs).

>>17>>16 im not even gonna bother responding to this really because you say inconsistent things and pseudo-facts.

also guys please let this thread die down and dont bump it up, there's a thread on this subject in news that's correctly made with sources and such if you wish to further discuss.

I really don't know how to respond to any of this.

You do realise cow, sheep and pigs often suffer. There are whole documentaries on how meat companies cut corners. If you were vegetarian and against all animal abuse I'd understand why you'd be outraged. You might think digs are pets but they don't. Its like how cows are holy in India but in the west they are just meat. I don't understand the sudden outcry. Dog is a traditional meal in south china for a long time. If your going to talk about torture do something about bull fighting or other blood sports.

>>20 >correctly made with sources and such

How dare you try to impose rules that foster evidence-based discussion! We can do what we want!

>>22 Two wrongs don't make a right, though. You can't say they are wrong in trying to stop suffering just because other people suffer too.

>>23
I don't justify killing of dogs. But if they are so against animal cruelty it's better to start with yourself. Become a vegetarian, campaign for animal rights in your own country. Before you point fingers at other customs.
I'm not vegetarian and while I disapprove of animal cruelty, I am not one to say what animals others can and cannot eat.

Dogs are not meant to be eaten last time I checked. Also, I heard they capture people's pet dogs and kill them. Imagine losing a beloved pet through this.

26 Name: Anonymous : 2015-06-29 20:23 ID:+qrJCxVO [Del]

>>24 I think I am going to agree. It is better to start locally first. But, thankfully the Chinese people are already doing that. This festival is the last one running, after all.

>>25
>Dogs are not meant to be eaten last time I checked
Who exactly did you check with?
I wasn't aware there was someone you could check with to find out what the meaning of life was.

We are trying to prevent dogs from being eaten.. Mm.. Nice idea.. But what about defending Pork, beef.. Or maybe duck too ? What I mean is that, we can't prevent dogs from being eaten, it's just meat like other animals.. Just imagine Thanks Giving without a turkey.. This is a festival, it's just like preventing MacDo' to put beef in his burgers.........

I know that dogs are domestical animals, that they're man's best friend and stuff, it's mean to say that, but sometimes they are things that we just can't solve and we just can't save those poor dogs from being eaten, some (I say "some" not "every"!!) asians considers dogs like simple meat.

But I do agree that if they capture other people's dogs to eat them, I think... IT IS very weird... Not weird but.. Hum.. Maybe insane °-° ?
