Got Prayer? & Religious Missions (61)

1 Name: BarabiSama !lmBitchbiw : 2015-01-26 17:27 ID:5aOi9jIK [Del]

Keep debates about praying and religion out of this thread. There's nothing wrong with giving them a safe place of their own on the board.

This thread is for requesting and giving prayers and sharing religion-centric missions. Maybe your brother is going into surgery in a few days, or you just sent in a college application, and you need the extra spiritual support? Or perhaps you want to ask people to donate to their local places of worship? Etc.

Missions that go against the general liberties of the populace (such as racist or anti-LGBT missions) will not be tolerated. Please respect missions for religions that are not your own as well.

Enjoy!

I think it would be nice to start off with a call to prayer for those suffering loss. Maybe pray a rosary or some amount of prayers for those who have recently lost someone dear to them. Thanks for putting this thread here, God Bless.

I like this thread...

Like, here's what I don't get. Anti-religion people get all upset when you say that you prayed for them because they were sick or whatever, but here's my take on it. You're trying to help them in the only way you can, and it really shows that you care about them, ya know?

Regardless, I've got prayer I want to request from my religious dollars. My mom's friend went to the doctor several times to complain about pains, and the doctor shrugged her off and said it was because she was fat.

Then she recently found out she has stage four cancer. The tumor was twenty inches long!

So yeah, I don't know her, but what happened to her was really shitty. So, can everyone pray for her? Or send her healing strength or whatever according to your religion?

Hey guys.
I always feel embarrassed aw hen asking others to pray for me.
I always see it as not their problem so I shouldn't bring up my issues.
But this one...probably needs some prayer hands.
I can't quite say what, but could you pray that I'll have the mind and sensitivity of a child again? In the Bible, Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
I'm falling off the path of righteousness I feel. And a deep and profound bitterness won't leave me alone.

>>7 I understand the mindset that you're coming from, but you shouldn't ever feel embarrassed to ask for a hand in prayer, because in an indirect way it's our problem too as fellow Christians, so don't ever feel otherwise. <3 At least it should be, and while there are people that might tell you otherwise, don't listen to them because they're wrong. Asking for the prayers of others definitely will do more help if anything, prayers of everyone coming together for one cause will be stronger I think.

One scripture I like to think about for things like this is Psalm 145:18-19 (Message version because it's easier lol) "God's there, listening for all who pray, for all who pray and mean it. 19 He does what's best for those who fear (reverence, not a scared fear) him - hears them call out, and saves them"

So I think with the sincerity of your heart, He'll help the bitterness go away <3

Hey guys I'm a messianic Jew and my congregation is sharing a building with a bunch of other groups. The problem is people keep taking our supplies for the youth and there are so many groups in the building that we often get disrupted sent to different parts of the building or even kicked out at times. We'd like to get a building of our own so that we can have more events and be able to spend more time in prayer and worship and we're trusting in G-d to provide one. If anyone would be willing to keep us in prayer I'd be very greatful thanks.

My mom has another friend that needs all of your prayers/healing energy/ whatever your religion does. Or if you're atheist, keep her in your thoughts.

Her friend has a disease that causes her to always be in unimaginable face pain all of the time. She has to have weekly injections and she's had three surgeries in two years to try to help with the pain. She's an awesome person who spends time saving animals at the shelter, and being awesome. People with this disease often commit suicide because it's so horrible.

On February 17, she's having a trial implant. Then another surgery on the 19th. Please pray that it works! Like, pray extra hard! Especially that day! Because that's absolutely horrible, and she doesn't deserve it! There's too much love in her heart to deserve that pain!

>>8 Thank you so much! This really helped... =)

>>9 Got it; finding your own building is definitely hard, but you wouldn't believe how large my church is now; after moving building to building, taking over an old K-Mart, they finally have a place to call home.

>>10 Face pain? Wow. I've never even heard of that before. I've got her in my prayers.

>>10 I will definitely keep her in my prayers. My mom has MS, so I understand how excruciating nerve pain can be for people.

Recently, my dog Charlie has been diagnosed with diabetes. It's been about four days, and he won't eat any food. He also has neuropathy; his back legs will not support him for longer than a few seconds. We are currently trying to force-feed him, but nothing has happened so far. Please keep him in your thoughts/prayers. Charlie has been with us for ten years, ever since he joined us at a humane society. As a puppy, he was abused, and later thrown out the back of a moving truck, then rescued in the middle of the road. We've done our best to give him a good life, but without eating, we cannot administer his insulin. Charlie may end up being put down soon to ensure he doesn't feel any pain.

>>20 I'm so sorry...
Please, take it from me... I made a mistake when I was a kid in not putting my cat down... I will never forget it. Please, I know it's tough, but it's not nearly as bad as watching them go the painful way. I was such a fool. But... I wasn't ready. I had had that cat for only one year, and bc of its previous owner, it was beaten blind, had a dead tail, and suffered from epilepsy. I thought that I would have it forever, and make up for all the bad cards the poor thing was dealt in life. But in the end, I feel like I was no better than the man who beat him and threw him in the garbage can.
I pray for your dog, your family, and that you'll make the right choice; no matter how sad saying goodbye is.

I will keep all of you in my mind as long as I can, >>20's dog, >>17's success, >>14's graduatioun, >>12's grandfather, >>10's mother's friend, and anybody who said anything before that. And while I am Atheist, I ask for what you may be able to give in mental support, I have ADHD, and while it's not usually very bad, I have been able to remember shorter and shorter intervals of time.

Thank you.

Could you please pray for my dad. He's really sick and nothing seems to help. He's in a lot of pain, and if he doesn't get better he might die. It's really hard on the whole family.

24 Name: SweatingBullets : 2015-02-08 07:17 ID:Dlg+3eO6 [Del]

>>20 Good news! We managed to feed him! Tomorrow night, if all goes well, we can administer his insulin!

>>25 As someone who has been scammed, I pray that your university's housing assistance can help you find a place, since they would be legally approved. I didn't call up my university and ask before making a move ironically because I kept finding ads that had rooms for way cheaper. Having done apt shares in Shanghai and a homestay with others in Japan, I thought I knew what I was doing. ^_^'
>>22 Thank you, Aden! And you got it.

If you don't want anyone praying for you...then just...don't post.
But to randomly say "keep your prayers to yourselves" on a thread of people requesting prayers... It's kind of nonsensical.

It's unusual, but please pray for all the people who've fallen on hard times in NYC. It hurts every time I hear a beautiful voice singing in the subway and it's a homeless man. Or when people beg on the subway for money, or kids selling snacks illegally on the train.

Cuz in the end, these people are working for their money. Not robbing people, not stealing, not out on the corner selling drugs or themselves. It quite admirable.
I'm really low on cash, so I can't give $2 or $3 dollars to every person I come across. I hope prayer reaches them, though.

Can a muslim please make dua for my health? I've had to undergo surgery before and was one the verge of getting it again recently and now just when I've thought that I'm clear of the particular condition I have, I fear I'm getting it again. So please make dua for it to go away but with khair (care and goodness).
