Unfortunately, most of us know or have heard of people in our own areas that have committed suicide, taken up cutting, have eating disorders, are fighting depression, take heavy medication, or in general are not mentally well. These are often out of their control, and it is difficult to find the outside support they need when those around them avoid discussing it or if there are few around them in the first place.
This mission is to help those people instead of ignoring them. Provide some kind of support. If your friend or family want to talk about something that has been afflicting them, let them open up. If they refuse to talk to you about it or if you are not sure what to say, remember that you can always direct them to other places to get information and support for what they are going through. At least let them know people out there will listen.
You may use this thread to discuss ways of supporting them, share similar missions, or to drop links to support forums, hotlines, shelter lists, and whatever else could be relevant. Try to make sure these services can be used internationally (if not, state which countries they apply to).
