Cause: There are billions of people like us out there. Millions of them have had a rough time with their lives. We’re doing this to show support for those that feel like crap, and could use a nice message.
Concept: Take images and videos of members holding signs to show our support. Sometimes, that’s just what people need. I’ll be mashing the pieces together in a 3-4 minute (in theory, I’ll make it longer if necessary) video.
What you can do: Take a picture of yourself holding a sign that says “You are not alone. The world is not as bad as it seems.” or your slightly modified versions of that. Feel free to include a nice comment of sorts, if you wish, but keep in mind that I’ll filter out anything that could be offensive. Post that picture here, on this thread, and I will put it to the video. If you want to do a video with your own story, as I’m sure some of you might have something interesting to share, let me know here on this thread and I’ll let you know if there will be room. If there is, I’ll hand out my email to those interested.

Leigha, this is not a duplicate. This is not like the sticky notes thread, or the take what you need thread. This is more of a "share your story" type of thing. I know this because reilyx and I talked about this beforehand.
The idea is to make a short clip that explains some of the things you've gone through and how things do get better. For example, I'm going to be doing a thirty to sixty second clip about coming out and how, while things may seem bleak at first, it really does get better.
It's supposed to be sort of a collaborate project from people across all walks of life. That's the goal.

I'm guessing that it would also help the purpose of the video if you're life isn't totally depressing, haha. Like mine for instance: "Do things get better?" "Maybe, but I haven't really seen it happen yet."
I like the idea, though, I really do; but I don't think that I'd be one to offer an encouraging story. While I might not be able to help with it, at least it might be able to help me. If nothing else, it might add some more perspective to the whole project.

Even though i KNOW that the vid is up and i love it might i add, i have something i'd like to say;
as of late i've felt VERY alone. where i'm at there ARE no other dollars for HOURS of driving...... it's hard when you can't be connected to others. however.... reading this has really helped pick me up threw my troubles lately...... i got into a fight with my best friend today, my brother is doing heavy drugs, my family is fighting, and my dog/best friend we just found out has Lymphoma {{for those who don't know it's a form of painful cancer}} ..... needless to say it's made me feel down but seeing this has helped a bit so now i have a few words for anyone ELSE feeling down;
"when hitting rock bottom at the bottom of the well, it can't get any worse, the only way left to go, is up, so start climbing so you can get to a better place"
it helped me feel better and i can only hope it can help another.
