I checked and did not see this exact Mission. So I plan on posting it, as it seemed that many people will do it. Thus meaning you all doing it, will not be recognized as some SPECIAL group just for doing it, or not as easily, anyway.

This is basically a nationwide protest, to drop the prices of Gas. This may or may not help, but it'll give us even more to do.

I know I'll be joining in. How about you?

(I accidentally posted this in a person's Mission Topic, so I deleted it.)

Sounds simple enough. Poke the fatcats in the sides sharply enough and they might be distracted from lining their pockets. Totally doable. :3

Those people will still fill up the next day if they have to... Not driving at all would probably be a better way to go, since gas won't be used. If the people drive, then not buying the replacement gas on a specific day does no good. They still need to replace it after burning it. A more efficient solution would be to go a week without motor transportation.

Of course, I could be wrong here. I'm just pointing out the logic flaws I see with this particular mission as it is.

>>3 You are correct. I was thinking similar thoughts. The issue is complicated by the fact that the fuel in question has already been paid for by the distributors.

People need to understand that fuel stations are independently owned and have to buy the fuel from the big oil companies. Then they resell it. By halting your fuel consumption, you only hurt the distributors, who are just trying to make a living.

My family actually does this for around a week or two. It is actually pretty easy to save on gas if you use the methods we use.

A lot of people have the misconception that waiting longer to fill up your tank automatically saves you money. The fact is, you haven't burned any less fuel, and are going to need just as much to fill up your tank as if you had filled it in more frequent intervals (assuming you only stop at gas stations that are along the way to your destination). The only method that works for saving your money, is to time it for when the gas prices are lowest. This is probably one of the methods mentioned in >>5. I only say this because of the point >>5 was trying to make, however that comment was actually irrelevant to the OP. The goal here from what I read isn't to save your own money, but to hurt oil companies by simply not spending any of it on gas.

I mentioned in >>3, and >>4 also raised some points as to why that won't work as well as that image above suggests.

>>3 That's a good point.

Pffft, you don't know the MEANING of high gas prices untill you've lived and driven in england. It's so cheap in the US by comparison.

I don't own a car... Does that mean I don't go to school and use up gas?

>>13 Greatest excuse to cut class. Ever.

>>7 Well the first thing is kinda obvious. No need to be going super fast when you can take it slow like a speed limit of 25 why not go 20 or less? The second is the biggest one is to let gravity do the work from the very beginning you can get up to very high speeds also when your going up a hill let your acceleration get you over the hill and just ride while you save gas. Also with the gravity going faster go as far as you can when you go uphill instead of starting up the gas strait away.

Easy! I'll pass it on.

>>13 Or you could walk/bike to school and save gas. Just sayin.

18 Name: aerietigre!!qz+w89r1 : 2012-03-28 10:44 ID:k+f6lXw5 [Del]

>>15 lol. I do that too. I also take my foot off the accelerator far earlier when approaching a red light. The quick stop with the brakes and quick acceleration to get back up to speed is so wasteful in areas with a lot of lights - it really adds up in traffic, too. Now, I just lay off the gas and most often, by the time I'm almost there the light is green and I don't even have to brake; in traffic I just end up moving at a slow, steady speed rather than starting and stopping. :3 It's great.

>>17 That would be a limited suggestion in the US. If you've ever been here, you'll notice that people live a lot more spread out than in Europe. Your school is often miles away. For instance: I walked home from my high school once, just out of curiosity, and it took me an hour and twenty minutes. ^^;

Fuck gassing out and April 15th

>>19 walking for an hour and twenty minutes on one day isn't a big deal. I've done it before. Hell it used to take me nearly and hour to cycle to my work.

$2,292,000,000.00 (almost 3 billion)
Well... the person who rounded that number sucks as math! :D

Eh... I'll do it, not like I fill up my tank every day anyways haha!
