So I've seen pictures of these flyers on the internet more often lately, and yesterday I actually saw one while I was downtown. I think this is something our group should do, and to some people, it really may make a difference. I don't think it would take to much time to make a couple and put them up in your area, knowing it would help others, which is what we Dollars are all about. It could be at school, in a resteurant, on a bullentin board, in a coffee shop, at a bus station, on an office door- wherever you think people will see and appreciate it, and take what they need. In case you can't read the tabs at the bottom, they say, love, hope, faith, patience, courage, understanding, peace, passion, healing, strenghth, beauty and freedom. we could add the Dollars logo on the poster, or sign it, '-The Dollars', I need input and opinions from my fellow Dollars, what do you guys think?

Why is there a Hylian symbol at the top?

This is one of the greatest ideas i've seen so far.

I saw one of these that was slightly different. Instead of "take what you need" it said "Smiles take one." and each tab had a little smiley face. I think both of these are great ideas though.

Alright, I've gotta be honest... This is a really cute idea. We're allowed to post things on the bulletins, and we have free reign over the hallway walls (as long as it's just masking tape used to put it up), so I think I'm going to do a little spamming. I may edit the idea a bit, but I'll keep it just as adorable ;P

That is the only possible way it'd show more effort and sincerity. Digital stuff is as hard and worth it as well, than it JUST being made by hand.

Also it can be mass copied and printed if they wanted it, if digitally done. If not, making it by hand seem like the more appropriate thing to do.

Whether it be digital or hand made, I think that every poster helps. I just made one by hand because I have markers. I think if it's made where you can push them out from the bottom, it'd work without having to cut them out. Well from the top and the bottom, not just the bottom alone.

I'm thinking of printing out papers with a grey, faded out Dollars symbol(like a crest or something you see in the background of important documents) in the background towards the upper center of the page. and then doing something similar to what Izashi-san did. It'll be putting the hand-done, and computer-done idea kinda together.

I'm going to do it via the Internet. By making it into an Interactive 'Point and Click' Youtube video, and each one clicked takes you to a video about the 'term' that is clicked.

We then can have others copy that idea, and send that video all around the net. But do NOT let it be known where it originated from. We can also create music for it using Punk-o-matic 2, and convert it over into MP3 format, so then it'll be 100% original.

I interpreted it as this: You literally have to take what you need. Nobody will just hand you courage, passion, or strength. You have to take those things for yourself. We've already done this once in our school, in our main entry way. When we came back the next day, they were all gone :)

I did this mission today. ^w^ first i was so worried that ppl will make fun of it or draw something funny on it... i posted the paper on my locker... and there were people who actually care about what is missing from their lives. at the end of the day.. i found that all the words were gone :) and i was really happy about it... it makes me smile and want to do something good like this for our society. encouraging ppl like this really felt great... im gunna do iit again in different areas! thank u so much for sharing this post..i got really inspired by it :) we dollars shud make our world a better place <3

When I put up my posters, I thought that people would think I was weird but before long, one of my posters had only 'faith' and 'freedom' left. I felt like I made someone's day today.

Here's an example of the posters I made, I hope it is Dollars worthy :) I hung most of them up and I will continue hanging up the rest tomorrow. Everyone at my school seemed to liked them so I think this worked our great :)

I wake up at 5 a.m today to post all of the brochure. I post 6 brochure on the different and far place. But, when I check one of the brochure on the nearest location of my house, it was already torn. Now, I'll check 5 brochure left.

I posted three in school completed in 2 days most of the lil tabs were taken off expect one of them has 3 left. I'm consider doing it again though it'll be harder now, this week was election week for my school so that had posters up so it was easy to blend in. I had to find a people could see it but still not see it. Didn't want it to be to noticible n have the school take the entire thing off

As I was walking down the stairs, I noticed many of the tabs on the floor... honestly people could just show some respect and leave the tabs for other people who will actually take them for what they're for. I never thought this mission would get so much attention, thanks everyone for all the support! Just to show that this mission actually makes a difference, and how much this mission impacted me, here's something that happened the other day...

My friend, (who is unaware I was the one who put up the flyers) talked to me about how the 'take what you need poster' made her want to get up and try harder. She's been having problems with severe depression lately, and she told me recently that she had been thinking about suicide more often. When she was talking about the poster, she was so happy, and said "I didn't know that anyone actually cared about other people...and was actually willing to reach out to them. Taking that tab felt like someone wanted me to keep trying."

She volunteered herself for counseling and is doing amazing. It's crazy. I felt so amazing when she talked to me, congratulations to everyone in the Dollars, somewhere, you have helped someone whether you know it or not. Just because the poster was gone at the end of the day doesn't mean it didn't go to waste. For some people, seeing something like that can make them smile. Which is just what they need at times.

Also, on a more literal note, I've seen lots of replies about how the fliers were taken down. If you're putting them up at a school or library (maybe e a mall) you may want to go to whoever is in charge and ask them for permission. Although, then comes with it the not-so-quite-fun older generation, who may not exactly understand the Dollars completely. Also...explaining what it's for might be hard, and if the person who you are seeking permission from is speculant, they will most likely hesitate if the definition of the Dollars you give isn't well though out....if you know what I mean...

I feel like it's very unclear what I am trying to say, and I cannot speak (type, whatever) right today. Maybe YOU feel you understand it and can explain it better for other members...? (that would be great if there is confusion, it's no telling when the next time I'll have access to a computer will be.)

But all in all, this has been a pretty awesome mission if I do say so myself ;D

I hung up a couple signs, and one of my friends is going to help me after school today! We'll have five of them up at the end.

I liked the idea. It's a nice simple gesture and I posted them up in 2 plazas close to me. One was taken down when I checked and the other had 2 tabs ripped off so one is being used :)

It`s a great idea i`ll try it.

Putting these around my college dorm on all the floors has been really successful. I've overheard a lot of people saying good things about it like "taking the one that said 'strength' actually made me feel stronger cause I was going through a hard time." It help a lot more people than I realized and in more ways than I realized. This is honestly something we must keep doing!

Hmm~ I'm definitely doing this :) On the matters with the site and password thing, I like the idea of inviting more people here, but I think putting it on every tab or on the poster itself is too obvious. How about putting it on only one of the tabs, so it's like drawing a prize? :) I think it's a good compromise too. I just hope nobody takes them down... They'd have to be pretty sour people to do that.

I did this today at my school! I was so happy to find that by the end of the day, they were all gone! Also, I wrote our slogan on it, instead of our logo. Our school has a really strict policy about gangs and stuff, and I'm pretty sure I would have gotten in trouble. But I was so happy to find that it was so well received!

I've gone and put a couple of the Dollars ones up around my school lately ^^ I'm currently in the process of doing it again right now :P

I felt really kind of sad about it once I saw. Like, at first I put it on the school message board, and after two days not a single person had taken one.
So I moved it somewhere else, put an arrow next to it and wrote, 'Take what you need-The Dollars' on it.
I came around next period to see two had already been taken. 'Love and Joy'. I was thrilled, until the period after and every one of them I had put up around the school had just been ripped and scattered. It drove me nuts, and my English teacher had to comfort me :P

That is a really great idea, also something that could be done that my friends and I did years ago in our school, long before i ever heard of the dollars, we put compliments on pieces of paper and put them all around the school for people to see. Things that could be generalized, but could also still make people happy. My friends and I stayed anonymous, and we heard some people say it was stupid, but i also heard a bunch of people saying it really did brighten up their day.

Sorry for the double post, but here is a better version of the previous version I adapted. Again please feel free to use this image, I encourage it actually. This can help change someones day, I know just seeing this made a pretty down day for me better. So please spread this warmth in your community.

I made all of these by hand since my printer is out of shape. Kudos to those who recognize the quotes. I made 6 total, but only took a picture of 5 because I already posted one up :(. Hopefully this will do for now.

I put 4 around my school and after 24 hours they've all had something taken off them! They mentioned them at assembly and they asked who put them up. I didn't fess up because there used to be someone at my school who was in the dollars, but he tagged 'dollars' all around the school. He was suspended. I'm not going to say anything about the dollars until I do enough missions to give them a good name again.

I put up a few of these, but for some reason people keep taking them down >_<

I put 12 up around my school today, half of them got taken down though :/ but some had tabs missing. Mostly people took the understanding, peace, and hope.

My friend and I have been posting some of them since summer break and in different citys too and it's really fun but where I live they allways take them down so any idea what to do when they take them down. I can't just put them up like that anymore because it cost money to do them. You know you have to buy paper and paper isn't cheap here -.-

This reminds me of something we have at our school.
In the hallway that leads to our Spanish and Tech Ed classrooms there's a locker that's painted blue with clouds on it and hands are painted on it that spell either 'Peace' or 'Care', I don't remember exactly. The locker used to belong to a student who died a few years ago,and they painted it in his memory. If you ever had a problem or needed help just write what's wrong on a sticky note or piece of paper with your name on it and slip it into the locker, and I think the guidance counselor will come talk to you or something. I've never done it, but that's what my friend in Student Council has told me :) :)

One thing I've been wondering, though. How exactly does this help the person who takes the tab? If someone takes the peace tab, and goes home to an obnoxious family, how has it helped them? They still won't find peace. If someone, like the OP could explain to me exactly how these posters successfully benefit others, I'll be more likely to get more friends to help me post them.

ok, i asked my guidence counculer if i could do this and she said yes, but i could only put them in the bathrooms, anyways i put them up during 4th period and by 5th all of them were gone! so i had to put more up, me and my friend cameron and nathon are putting them up again c:
