So the Idea is that we have a dollars blood drive. Now, in reality we can't exactly all meet up at the exact same place and donate because we live in different areas. What we could do is come up with a day that works for everyone, I'm thinking October 1st, and all donate then at our local blood donation center. I was also thinking we could all wear all black(the colorless color) when we donate. If a ton of people all over donated blood on the same day wearing the all the same color not only would that grab peoples attention but it could also save a ton(X3) lives.
1 pint of blood can save up to three lives
Every 2 seconds someone needs a blood transfusion
5 million patients in the US alone need blood every year
Blood can not be manufactured, it can only come from donors
30 million blood components are transfused each year
Adults have about 10 pints of blood in their body. 1 pint is given during donation.
Donors can give blood every 56 days
Let's be real heroes and save up to 3 lives! (And if that doesn't get you, there are free cookies and juice boxes afterwards.)

I think the blood drive is a good idea, but the wearing all black makes us seem to noticeable.
We don't NEED attention brought to us. We are meant to be transparent and if thousands of us show up to blood donation centers (worldwide) it's not so transparent anymore.
The fact that we donated blood is all we need.
Wearing all black, not necessary. It's a label and we are meant to have no label. That would ruin the beauty of being a Dollar.

This Upcoming Tuseday, all southern californians in Lake Elsinore, Corona, Riverside, Murrieta, and Temecula can come and donate blood at Temescal Canyon High for the San Deigo Blood Bank. Walk-ins are rare but it starts a 7:00am and ends at 12:30pm, you are welcome to sign up and also continue giving blood where you see their logo.

I would love to donate, but sadly I don't think it's a good idea for me to. The medications I'm on probably affect my blood in ways that wouldn't be good for those receiving a donation. But for those who can, I hope you all do. It's definitely a good cause that I think would help a lot of people.

Wish I could but because of medical problems I've been through a lot of operations, including 2 heart surgerys so I have had blood transfusions myself and they prefer not to take blood from people who have had transfusions.

I think it's a great idea! I just don't think the color black thing is needed because even if it's NOT a color, it's still something you can tell it's the DOLLARS by. We're not trying to get noticed, but if you want people to know we're here, then instead what we could do (I only say this because I have seen AND participated in these missions before) post a sticky note or something that says "The world isn't as cruel as you think it is." or something like that near the blood donation center.

The blood drive thing really is a good idea. It's something I would very much like to do. Unfortunately, I had my gull bladder removed when I was fourteen and almost needed a blood transfusion myself. That's what makes me want to do it so bad. But at the same time, my blood level has been down since, and I can't do too much active stuff. I can run around and do little thigns for the Dollars, no problem. I just wish that I could do this too. It makes me sad! (T.T)

The required age to donate blood varies depending on where you live. But in some states they allow you to donate blood if you are 16 years old (but that's with a parent/gaurdian's permission) and if I'm not mistaken, at the age of 17 you're allowed to donate without a parent's permission. Like I said earlier though, the age varies from state to state.

A lot of people wear black. It will make no significant difference other than the numbers. Though, that is the next issue. In many countries, you have to be at least 18 years of age to donate blood, and I'm quite sure most people here have not reached that age yet.
There are also many limits on who can or cannot donate blood. Extensive testing is done (or supposed to be done) before you can donate blood, and I hear that testing for AIDS has to be done half a year before you donate anything. I may be wrong, but this is what I've heard. Another thing is, you are not allowed to donate blood if you are homosexual. I'm not sure whether this applies to all countries, but it seems to me that more people who watch anime are not straight than those who are "normal". Then there is obviously the people who fear needles or taking blood. If you look at the number of Dollars members after deducting all these people, there would be a relatively small amount. Not big enough to make people think about it.

I really want to donate every time I can but ever time I have gone, I never get to. I wish I could help so much on this mission but I am not so lucky. Usually about once a week there's a message on our home phone encouraging her to give blood. It's irritating and my mom can only usually give every few months because of her age. I recently gave blood at a Red Cross Blood Bus drive, it was an alright experience. Left my arm a little sore though.
I set up the appointment using their online/app service, which also has a group function. I have created a Dollars group, and with it, we can see how many lives we have impacted, with my first donation it's impacted three lives. The group is currently at rank 42.7k.
