I know this board isn't very popular, but maybe there are a few people reading this. What are you reading today? I am reading Murakami's book "Wild Sheep Chase". It's very interesting! I really don't know how to describe it but if anyone is looking for a good novel I recommend it to everyone.

I just finished "Death With Interruptions". I highly reccomend this novel. The basic premise in the beginning is that, on a particular new years eve, in a particular country.... people who normally would... stop dying. While intriguing the first act does loose momentum but trust me. Stick to it and you will find the book to be thoroughly enjoyable! :D

"A Wise Man's Fear", second book in the Kingkiller Chronicles. This series is just so beautifully written. I highly recommend it. (Fantasy, btw)

I'm currently catching up on the Warriors books for some childhood nostalgia.
If you're looking for a shorter Murakami read, I highly recommend Sputnik Sweetheart. I'd say it's very open-ended. His short stories are also interesting and sometimes characters from the novels will make cameo appearances which is always fun.

I'm currently reading some 14th century propaganda as part of preparing for applying to university next year. It's called Liber Secretorum Fidelium Crucis or 'The Book of the Secrets of the Faithful of the Cross'. It's kinda hard going, but it gives a very unique, if contemporary insight to the thoughts that some Christians had post the Fall of Acre and the end of the Crusades.

Isaac Asimov's short story from 1941 titled "Nightfall"

The story revolves around a civilization that never saw the night sky, and how one such occurrence would kill every people on the planet just from the horrifying realization of witnessing the jillions of stars.

I'm currently reading Bernard Werber's encyclopedia. Seems pretty boring (and scary) cause it's label as encyclopedia but in fact it's full of interesting, unbelivable and surprising fact on pretty much everything ! It goes from things as the Shrödinger cat to the man who benefited humainkind the most. It's called "Encyclopédie du Savoir Relatif et Absolu". Its french and can be translated as "Encyclopedia of relative and Absolute Knowledge". I also started Brave New World from Huxley and just finished Men and Superman from Bernard Shaw which I absolutely adored !

33 Name: cakei : 2021-09-22 12:57 ID:drXHG2oO [Del]

I'm reading Helicopter Story by Isobel Fall. It's about "what if people actually identified as real attack helicopters"- where your gender is a weapon assigned by the government in order to fight wars.
It is bonkers but its also written by someone whos actually trans, so its done tastefully (not in a mean way). It feels like I'm reading something before my time

Reading "The Novel's Extra" right now and almost finished. I finished The Author's Pov till date 2 months ago more or less, so I have been reading The novel's Extra again while I wait to have a lot of chapters of The Author's Pov to read. Tbh it's interesting to read a novel again bc some details and scenes I enjoyed the first time, either I didn't remember them or I have a pretty vague memory of them. The Novel's Extra is a novel I really recommend on how entertaining it is.
