Hey I hope im not too late for your assignment
So first you should define what is resilience and empathy, and then how it applies to the characters. but more or less it means: how has empathy helped in a character's ability to overcome hardship.
So you can talk about roberts character growth over time. How he empathized with others, or even animals, and how that helped him survive the war.
your thesis should be something like "empathy allows character to better understand the values of life, which allows to overcome harships" idk its been a while since i read the wars. basically the topic is a cause (empathy) and effect (resilience).

also you really dont need to be a sarcastic twat to doodles. Although his response is worthless, it does not mean you can call him "not smart enough" and try to use fancier vocabulary to elevate yourself. which it doesnt, cause you just seem pretentious and stupid for not knowing a simple prompt.
