You should talk about something general, like water shortage in other countries or something to that extent. It's easy and there's a lot of information on the internet that you can research for it.
If you don't want to take that route, talk about something you're passionate about. Personally, I enjoy watching someone talk about things they like. It really helps draw people in and connects them with you. And if you like it, it won't be such a bother researching it. That is, if you even need to.

I had a similar assignment once in my literature class a couple years ago. Someone in my class did her speech on different ways to peel a banana. She also brought in bananas for visual demonstration. I thought it was a pretty creative topic.
